Take 2 Interactive have released their Demo Version of the 3D-Shooter "Prey". The demo version is limited to the first five levels of the final version. you can either play it in single or multiplayer.

I read about it a while ago. It sounds...interesting.

Just not interesting enough for me to want to try it.

the shit is really cool.....

the demo comes with 2 multi maps but it reminds me of quake or unreal ...*i dont like*

one thing that you have to adjust to is people running on the ceiling

Neat concepts, and not too badly put in. Yeah, you can run on walls/ceilings, its hard to adjust to but you end up learning which way the gravity goes and use it to your advantage (example, shooting your grenade launcher and the grenade turns a corner).

I can't really comment on MP, there's practically one server in australasia and it's empty.

SP Story is interesting, learning curve is very short, but then again so is the demo.

One thing disappointing is you can't die. Or specifically, there's no penalty to dying.
When you die you get sent to the 'spirit world' where you shoot a bunch of flying birds to determine how much health you respawn with. and then you pick up right where you left off. So really, dying can actually help you gain life.

Oh yes and this game gets one extra bonus point because it features Judas Priest.

i think prey's pretty sweet,anti grav & & the new portal system effects & spirit mode for sp make it better than doom3 (also a sweet game i enjoyed).ive been playing multiprey a lot on the 2 demo maps & i can see me buying it,good game cant wait for its release.mp will last me until ut2007 comes out anyway.

btw new computer? Don't need it.

I run BF2 at all low, 1024x768@60hz, and i lag on 64 players.

Prey runs smooth on medium-high. And that's still damn gorgeous.

THe installation really looks clunky. It's the .exe and ONE fatass .pk4 file. Not very good planning i'd say.
