Yes maybe if your 100% sure the person you have is guilty.

I'm not sure of all the details, and sum may be wrong but if anyone remembers the following case in more detail please correct and add to what Ive said.

There was a case in the states where an African American was found guilty of armed robbery and murder and sentenced to death row (not sure what form of death). He went through the appeals etc and was found guilty every time.

He sat on death row for 17 years and something like 6 months before his execution date a school (or college) law class took his case as a project to see how he was prosecuted and the evidence etc (not to get him off just to observe the way the law worked). But what they found was that the man was Innocent of all charges and the eye witness was brainwashed by a corrupt cop and evidence was planted at the scene to make him guilty.

I cant remember if they found the guilty person or just had a suspect (or they were already dead or in jail). But it just points out the laws not perfect, what seems an open a shut case in not always so and to 'kill' people straight away could mean innocents get hung while the guilty get away.

All corrupt politicians would get life in prison.

All oil tycoons would be required to ride bikes until oil prices dropped.

All murderers and rapists would be left on a island to fend for themselves. This island would be guarded by the navy anyone leaving would be killed on sight.
