i had an xr600 years ago, was awesome for busting up the fire trails around Canberra. then i went to a yz250....but i goto say the 2 stroke didn't do it for me im a torque freak, so i then went to a wr400.  for moto x the 2 strokes are a lot easier for jumping as you don't have to be as exact when you roll off the throttle for take off as you do with a 4 stroke.

but for me as most of my riding is done in the bush 4 strokes is where its at.

and i like the yami's for the same reason i like the busa for the road. nothing could touch the 400 when they first came out.

There is no best bike in the world!!!!  Anyone claiming to have or know is full of it!!

There have been some crappy ones in the past, but these days, just about all of them have their +/-.  A lot of it depends on the kind of riding your doing.  When it comes to dirt, the most important thing is figuring out what size motor and then just pick a color.
