one you install the SF or any other booster pack, your account automatically updates your password to the latest one you used. You will NOT be able to login on a fresh installation of BF2.

but you will if you reinstall and then retrieve your account, won't you?

this only occurs if you try and use the booster stuff on a fresh player account, regardless that it has the same cd key?

I know you have to have your account name & your gamespy user ID as the same name in order to even play the booster packs.

that's kind of what i was wondering. i've been thinking about buying/downloadng AF, but I need to do a format and was wondering what kinds of issues people were having with this thing (i.e. what kind of installation it was, how it was verified etc).

so as long as you stick with your main bf2 player account name, you're ok?

but (sorry for the thread hijack) this still leaves the problem of why some people's account names are 'already in use' when they try to get it to work...

i have the same problem as well... and yes my gamespy account and bf2 account is the same. is there a fix?

woot! i found a fix. they only allow u to use internet explorer, thats what i did and now i can download
