Whats funny is the ranks that the US goes up in apparently are for the marines but the medal you get for playing as the US is the NAVY CROSS lol.
Wow...um...wow. Please do a little more research before you post something like this.  The USMC really is awarded the NAVAL CROSS because they are a sub-division of the NAVY.  They do really get the naval cross for an award.  Its hard as hell to get but it does happen.  The USMC in a sense is more the expeditionary force of the navy with its own command.  But they are the ones who are on the Navy's ships, use the Navy's transports, and land on the shores in amphibious attacks. So yes anyone who knows something about the military knows full well that marines get the navy cross.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH .... you just pwned a 12 year old kid from Poland or something ... but damn I wanted to say the same thing! HAHAHAHAHAHAH

I wonder if the Airborne Specialist ribbon is for BF Special FOrces and is the equivelent to

Doesn't work.  A while back I tried just about everything I could think of to get this ribbon.  Since it's the "Airborne Specialist" ribbon and not the "Aviator Specialist" ribbon, it would make sense it has to do with parachuting.

So let's see the list of things I tried...

1. Killing people while parachuting.  I killed 8 people while my parachute was out and got no ribbon.  8 is a lot.  I can't imagine them making the number any higher than 5, even though I think that is a bit high.  I'm 100% certain this is not the way to get the ribbon.

2. Constantly parachuting for over one minute.  It's safe to say that you won't get this ribbon simply by parachuting from a high altitude.  After taking the blackhawk up as high as it would go on Ghost Town and parachuting out (I believe it was over two minutes, actually), I did not receive the ribbon.

3. Ten different >10 second long parachute jumps in one round.  Nope, no dice here either.  I just used the blackhawk to repeatedly gain altitude and jump out, but after ten jumps I still have yet to receive the ribbon.

4. Over one hour of total time in parachute mode.  Also untrue.  I just reached an hour of parachuting not long ago and did not receive the ribbon.

There were others I had tried, but they were dumb and I didn't actually think they would work.  ...And they didn't.

Yeah well the funny part is once a marine has seen combat and has had their ass saved by the USAF or Navy fighters then they really do stop calling other branches pussies.  We are their life line and no matter how "Superior" the marines think they are.  We all bleed the same color and die just the same. We all get shot at and lose friends.  But with out air superiority both army and marines would lose ALOT more men.  Attitude changes once they experience this for the first time.  The whole superiority thing is more of a recruitment scam.  True they are good....but a USAF Pararescue Jumper would destroy a marine if pitted against one another. Even Lee Ermey said it himself.....there is nobody better in all our services than these guys.

Adogg, this isnt meant as a slam. even though it was said at least once before, the USMC is an expeditionary force.  In BF2, the US invades other countries, in a sense, it isnt really defending the US as much as it is defending US interests(IN A GAME). The marines are usually one of the first if not the first military element to enter any combat zone on the ground as a representative of the US military. The Army is usually called into prolonged combat situations. Once again, the USMC is an expeditionary force.  The Army isn't in the game. Why it is not, i dont know....Is it just me or has this thread gotten off topic for the most part? I definitely havent helped trying to keep it on topic. Just my 2 cents

You are correct ... and since the USMC is so busy OVER THERE -- who is defending the omish country? My understanding is that in AF it's the USMC AGAIN?! That makes no sense ... it really should be the Army/Reserves/Coast Guard ...

THAT's my question.
