Anyone know what the requirements are yet? My money is on 50 hours in theatre, plus 1 second on each map, but I've yet to hear for certain.

- New Ribbon Requirements?
probably the same as the euro forces ribon I dont see why they dont just make another medal instead of ribon
Because there is already a USMC medal....LOL. Ribbons are for Theater of Operations and Medals are for armys.
Exactly. That's why there is no Euro ribbon...Capt. Foley wrote:

oke, the above about the AF ribbon, I understand.
The USMC all ready have a medal and the ribbon is for theater of operations, but EF is a new army and they also have a theater of operations, so a new medal and ribbon would be correct, like any other army in BF2 and BF2:SF.
I just find out that the EU service ribbon and the Airborne specialist ribbon (SF) have been given, according to this site on www.bf2s.com/awards.php
How is this possible???? or just false information???
Call me stupid if you want, i don't care...

We were discussing that on the IRC channel a little while ago. I found one of the accounts that has the EU ribbon is an EA test account. I'm guessing these ribbons were given out by EA and as of yet are unattainable ingame.
Also, EU should not have a ribbon. The maps they are in are in the MEC and PLA theatre of operations whereas AF has maps in North America, a completely different theatre.

Yes you're right!! No ribbon for EF.
Thats all right, but shouldnt the start thinking of some new awards (bling bling) just because some people need new goals to go for as they have almost everything?

The whole thing doesn't make sense.
MEC has a medal, and a ribbon for theater play
PLA has a medal, and a ribbon for theater play
USA has a medal, but is there really a ribbon for theater play?
EU has a medal, but is there really a ribbon for theater play?
Why have ribbons and medals for some armies and not the others?

All armies have medals rewarding time served as that army. The ribbons are for time in theatre.(WC)KtheC wrote:

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=theatre
"A large geographic area in which military operations are coordinated."
Therefore, the EU should not have a ribbon since there are no maps that are in Europe. The maps in EF are located in either the PLA theatre or the MEC theatre. However, North America is a completely different place and therefore a different theatre, hence making it necessary for a new ribbon.
Thanks for clearing that up. +1 f for you

Whats funny is the ranks that the US goes up in apparently are for the marines but the medal you get for playing as the US is the NAVY CROSS lol.
So, is there a way to tell who, if anyone, has that NA ribbon, so we can
see what stats they have that were to receive the award.

By that logic there must also be an airborne specialist ribbon.Cbass wrote:
European Union Service Ribbon has been awarded 2 times, so it must exist.
North American Servce Ribbon is up to 4 awards now
Any idea who has these things?
maybe the bf2test (number) people that apear sometimes
Wow...um...wow. Please do a little more research before you post something like this. The USMC really is awarded the NAVAL CROSS because they are a sub-division of the NAVY. They do really get the naval cross for an award. Its hard as hell to get but it does happen. The USMC in a sense is more the expeditionary force of the navy with its own command. But they are the ones who are on the Navy's ships, use the Navy's transports, and land on the shores in amphibious attacks. So yes anyone who knows something about the military knows full well that marines get the navy cross.137[CSi] wrote:

I wonder if the Airborne Specialist ribbon is for BF Special FOrces and is the equivelent to
the vanilla ribbon. Just jumping out of a plane or helo that is very high up and getting
that 10 second descent, if that doesnt award it.

WOw ! thats a bright idea dude !
Is it in AF maps though or USMC as a whole. im guessing the former
I almost joined the marines strait out of highschool until I realised it wasn't really for me. The whole time I was in the recruiting offices all they did was slam every other branch of the military calling them pussies and how the marines are superior and more sucessful in every way possible. Now I understand the pride that comes along with the marines but it is kind of hard to believe from a non military background perspective that they're in any way affiliated with any other branch of the military the way USMC puts themselves up on a pedastool compared to other branches of the armed forces.2ndLt.Tucker wrote:
