In teh evening: Boddington's Pub Draft, Old Speckled Hen, or a real black & tan (bend your spoon!) with Bass on the bottom and Guinness on the top!

Okay, seeing as you're reaching that age where you may consider spending a wad of money, (maybe in 10 years or so) I highly suggest you take a trip to Vancouver Island.
Ever since I went there and went pub-hopping, trying all these different specialty beers, every other off-the-shelf beer lacks something. Not that they seem terrible, but they seem empty. For example, going to Europe on a cheese-fest, then returning to your pathetic Kraft or Chesdale slices. Everything just tastes different.
Anyway, Victoria, Vancouver Island, is the place to go for a beer person. There's a whole chain (set up nicely for an afternoon walk from one to the next) of pubs that brew their own specialty beers, all with different aromas, different conistencies, flavors, everything. From beer brewed under the ocean to beer brewed in space (no kidding). Of course, the latter is saved for special special occasions.
But back on topic, there's a small selection of beer in Thailand. Beer Chang and Singha Beer are both kind of watery, while Heineken is really the only cheap non-thai beer. Corona is an affordable luxury. Then there's my stock of Molson. Hehe.

As an Aussie I have to make the point that we are considered amongst the top 5 for beer consumption in the world. Most Aussies drink the local beer here but some, like myself prefer international beer. Corona is nice, so is Hollandia and dutch beer rocks. But my all-time favorite would have to be a local....VB (Victoria Bitter).
Most countries know Australian beer for our export 'Fosters'. Just a word about Fosters.....I dont think a single Australian actually drinks the stuff. Its purely an export that no-one here wants to drink. You will find if you were to survey Aussies on their favorite beer that VB is the popular choice.

My favorite is Good ole American Budweiser or Michelobe Lite. A co-worker of mine Loves Hefeweizen but it is hard for him to get here in Indiana USA. I will have to try it sometime.Boomer1120 wrote:

Hmm, I had a Belgian blonde beer two days ago, I'm trying to remember the name....it was 6.6 (I think)% and the source of horrid gas the next day... Aha, it was Leffe Blonde Ale. Tasted good, though, regardless of the stink it caused.
Anyway, there is a strong ale from Quebec that is over 8% I want to try, I think it was called Maudite, I'll let you know
