Anyone bothered to throw 20 bucks to Valve for this yet?  Just wondering how it compares to HL2.

Way too short to be honest

yep. I found it very enjoyable.  None stop action and each of the 5 chapters are completely different goals/gameplay.  Chapter 3 is scary as shit.  The 5 hour running time was too short tho

Yeah, I'd like some feedback on this too.

Just as good, but much much shorter. The beginning is best. then it is a little boring and in the end it gets fun again. There is also commentary tracks troughout the game if you want to listen to the developers about the current situoation you are in in the game. No new weapons. And Alex is around you all the time. Barney has a little beard and looks more wounded in his face...

playing it now. to be honest it just carries on exactly where the last one left off and feels exactly the same. for 20 sheckles it seems ok...the first one was superb so i thought it must be worth it...specially when you pay 50 pounds for an XBOX360 game that is only half the game. id say go for it. enjoy!

I think its a rip-off, i mean you are paying £20 for a small short game which will be lengthened through time, just imagine, once they have done 7 episodes (they will do) you will have spent £280, its crazy, im never gonna throw money away like that, maybe when they put it down to a fiver. but im not stupid, they just think they can get away with it coz HL2 is so successfull anyone will buy the next ones of it. pfffffft

i know what you are saying zimmer but i dont know how short it is...i mean if it stopped now i would be gutted. but me being me,i just spent £40 over tesco's putting petrol in my car and buying some dinner, beers and doing the lottery and i think wtf ...ive just done 40 quid on fuck all! i know its beside the point really but 20 quid isnt that much for an add on to maybe one of the best fps's around!....unless it ends now like i said!lol

Actually it was $20 if you buy it online.  Was more like £11 which isn't much for 10 hours entertainment assuming you go back through and play the commentary.  Thats like going to see 2 -3 films at the cinema, not that expensive.

I finished it last night.  Took me 4 hours to complete over 3 days.  Fun game with excellent visuals.  I found myself attempting to dolphin dive/prone spam the Combines after a while.

No real new surprises, but a good experience.  I wish it lasted longer.  Gotta say I love the shotgun and being able to shoot 2 shells simultaneously.

It was great, commentary was fulfilling and the only downside is it's short, and it doesn't answer the questions about the combine and g-manthat many people have been asking. It gives hints, but not the giant piece of the puzzle we need.

On to episode 2!

These episodes are also great for a reason often overlooked.

If you have friends wanting to get into the HL2 mod scene, they can play mods via HL2:E1, without having to buy HL2.

Gabe Newell said in an interview that you find out stuff about gman in episode 2.  So just got to wait till Christmas now

Meh, it was really short. In all honesty, after playing, when it ended, I was like; that's it? It WAS good, but I just wis there was more . It only took one day to complete it

I dunno where you bought it, but 20£ is a little too much. And there are going to be 3 episodes. Not seven.

IMO it was a great game. Maybe a little short, but the feeling was great, the graphics and physics were fantastic and the story was mind blowing. All in all i love this game.
