Give Blood eery few months.....as u can see from my sigs below I'm a Firefigther in Ireland and from seeing some of the things that can happen to people I know how much blood donations are needed....
I think it should be mandatory for people to donate blood.....because u never know when u mighth just need it

ah, here in Indiana you have to 17 years old and 110 pounds. So I have technically been able to go for 6 months but I finally got around to it today.
I am not sure because you can get every walk of life then and I am not sure they would want blood from everyone. Where I donated today was totally out of blood. So they were quite glad we came in. But now I cant donate again until August 1.JonnyNuemonic wrote:

Thats the whole thing about donating even if your not the ideal person to donate...as u said "Every walk of life" at least then u know you are not.....you've done your duty.....you've tried and e told its ok your not required...rather than this whole BS of

"Oh that sounds good I'l do it next week"
People should get off there asses....go down to there locoal donation center and give blood....
God forbid anything every happen to anyone here or anywere else...but if it did would it not be comforting knowing that if needed there would be a blood donation there for you....
I for one have a rare blood type so i donate as often as i can...I also donate Platlets as often for a childrens hospital that deal with cancer patients for infants and teens....

I gave blood last year and I fainted...so maybe I'll wait a few years before doing it again.

Cancer history with radiation treatments...if it weren't for that, I'd definitely give blood.

I completely agree that people should donate blood, I plan on doing so semi-regularly once I turn 18, but its the line about it being mandatory to donate blood that I find funny, its an obvious contradiction as if you're giving something away cause you have to... well its not exactly a donation now is it?JonnyNuemonic wrote:

I had a nurse miss my vein once...twice...three times. My arm was purple for a few days after that. I haven't gone after that experience. If I wasn't scared of needles then, I am now.
I tried, they turned me down. Too right wing.
Blood was an awesome game.
I gave blood once and I got weak and nearly passed out. The thought of a needle going into my veins just freaks me out, sorry. I have to get blood drawn every few months for testing and that's enough for me.
