Just got it and I'm disappointed to say the least.
A few things I have to bring up:

1. Armored Fury has no new tanks.

2. MEC has a EuroCopter and PLA has what looks like a Twin Star heli... WTF?

3. No new army, no new guns. They could at least have added the American Army or something. Why the Marines again?

It's called Armored Fury and even though there are a lot of armor (no new ones though) in my opinion this booster pack is not in any way fun in the tank-drivers perspective since you won't get far until get the beeping sound and then you're dead... They could as well have called it Air Madness.

30 minutes was enough for me, now I'll go back to the 'Project Reality Mod'

I don't want to sound negative/ patronizing but didn't you read the description of it on the EA website before you bought it?

It states what new features have been added. We have known from the start that there was going to be no new tanks, no new armies/ guns and what the helis were going to look like.

I know that there may be other bad points about the booster pack but really you cant complain that you didn't know what was going to be in it!

Sorry if this comes across as a flame as it is not meant to be one!

Yeah I knew about that but I was kinda hoping it wouldn't feel like there was a lot missing when I was actually playing it. EF didn't feel this incomplete and I thought it would be about the same with this one.

I thought that the US would have the EuroCopter which would have made A LITTLE more sense and I wasn't sure what the WZ-11 was until I saw it in-game because the pic of the WZ-11 on the official BF2 site is wrong, it's showing the European Tiger heli...

I'm not sad about it, I'd probably have bought it even if I knew it was going to be shite cos I own all of the BF-games so I'm keeping up the tradition However I am a bit surprised and disappointed that they would release it in this state.

These guys get paid to do this and the mod teams are doing a much better job

I'm not sure DICE is to be blamed. EA is the one paying DICE and they can only do what they've been paid for. Obviously EA wanted something simple to make fast money. In this case it's obvious seeing the small amount of new content. And concerning bugs and stuff, I'm a programmer myself and if you don't get enough time (time = money) it's possible there will be flaws so EA is probably to be blamed for that too even though I can't comment on how professional DICE is.

Yeah I can see where your coming from as other people's opinions are never my own. We all think "oh well I'll be able to fly the A10 you bunch of plane noobs"

However the Op just seemed like he was ranting over the fact that EA said they would put things in that they didn't.

It would've been nice to see some of the armor packed in USI in the armored fury booster pack but the world cant always be whipped creme and caramel lattes.

I think expecting all sorts of new vehicles is a bit of a silly thing to expect. After all we did know what was coming out in the booster pack.

In the basics of the maps it offers everything the title says it was going to.

Lots of Armor...  check
Lots of Armor vs Armor action... check
Lots of Tank buster aircraft... check
Cool nifty Recon Heli... check
Nice atmosphere and American settings... check
New tactics and new maps to try new strategies on... check.


I think most of you expect WAY too much from these booster packs. Until I see you become veterans on these maps there isn't much more you can say about it. If you expect the same old Vanilla BF2 in these booster packs then obviously you can't look outside the vanilla box and give it a honest try.

Give it a honest try. Attempt to actually use tactics. Attempt teamwork. Put more than 30 or so hours of game play into it. THEN give your opinion if you really still hate it.

Its great if u r a plane whoreing git. The armour on armour action I was hoping for is trashed by the fucking planes (yes I know...my flying sucks, but there are only two of the feckers on each side so getting one would be a bloody miracle).

On the plus side, I like midnight sun, plenty of ambushing, mines, AT opportunities. Even added to my (meagre) knife kill tally.

Harvest is somewhere in the middle, its growing on me. Least there is a little cover from the jets.

Whoever it was said it should be called "Air Madness" was spot on (least for road rage IMO)
