- USMC in AF needs to be changed to U.S Army.
becouse of the existence of pure logic, if it isnt a wasnt a meaningless coincidence that the USMC also fight on land it would be undoubtly logicalto have other players, but now it CAN but probably wont happen that the USMC fights on route 66/33
How do you know they would? Better to go with the status quo than to second-guess some politicians.
if the united states were attacked, we would use any form of defence at our disposal. thats all i'll like to say without getting into Army/USMC rivalry
former army soldier
Totally agree with that, it does look strange, those colors. From a GAMING CONTENT standpoint, it would be much more fitting to have a different army involved. It looks retarded to see USMC in desert fatigues fighting in the green pastures of Pennsylvania.
It is a case of unimaginative laziness on the part of EA/Dice. That simple.
USMC were a main expeditionary force (from the beginning), so the US Army or the Homeland Security would be better placed in this theatre..
in before 100000 butthurt marines LOL insulting a marine is like calling a puerto rican a mexican. You just dont do it.
OMG so many experts on US military doctrine
I havent played the game yet but Im assuming that they got Army Soldiers with the new ACU's. If thats the case then thats the new uniform for the US Army. There is no longer Desert and Woodland Green, its all one single grey uniform now. The marines have their digital cammies but they switch uniforms for whatever theater theyre deployed in. but since you are talking about a game, i see your point.
heh heh heh....I'd like to see a map with the TSA and Coast Guard defendingReaxzion wrote:

Oh no the TSA is going to wand me to death!!!
The last time that I checked, the Marines didn't fly the A-10. Get over the whole service issue and just enjoy the friggin' game. If I'm wrong about the A-10, please inform me.

(In BF2 the Coast Guard would probably have a shitload of RIB's!)
I would like to see the army instead of USMC too, heck just give em different skins and call it the army and I'll be happy.
Yes, the Marine Corps. is mainly and expeditionary force, but I'm positive that if the U.S. main land was having a full scale invasion the U.S. government will bring all of the military branches to bear on the invading forces.<{SoE}>Agamemnar wrote:

The USMC is mainly an expeditionary force.
Nothing about this game is strictly one force or another for US. They got certain points for USMC like M1A1s, LAVs, and Cobras, but the aircraft is primarily USAF like the Warthog, F15, etc. And as far as I know, the US Army fly Blackhawks, not USMC.
I agree with the comment about the Army being the force to defend in a homeland attack. USMC doesn't have the force strength, arty, or track to cover that kind of area. They could be part of the equation, but the Marines are not "designed" to defend. And let us not forget that they are still part of the Navy. Not alot of water in PA.

Remember that big war we just had over there? Marine Corps....driving into Baghdad...desert gear...anyone? The whole rank system in this game is USMC. It kinda makes sense. I see your point, just sayin'.<{SoE}>Agamemnar wrote:

If you are just say so.

Everyone on these forums gets so fucking defensive.
And Gunslinger I am talking about a GAME here. Address the argument that it is lame to see USMC in desert fatigues fighting in farmland... do you ATLEAST admit that?
Sober enough to know what I'm doing, drunk enough to really enjoy doing it
First off let me say I am a active duty US Marine. I agree that if the mainland USA was attacked the US Army would provide the bulk of the forces for its defense. Like said before the Marine Corps would be a part of the battle plan though. The Army by nature is a huge fist that engages in Army vs Army massive tank battles etc. The Marine Corps is a sharp knife that strikes deep into the heart of the enemy. No matter how I would like to think that the Corps could defend the mainland by itself it just isn't going to happen. I can however see the battle depicted in AF being conducted by Marines. After all we do have 4 divisions with allot of troops and firepower. I would say if this actually did happen that the Army would dig in and defend and the Marine Corps would be used as a offensive spearhead to take back the land that was already taken. The US Army has even written that 84% of all offensive ground combat operations in Iraq are conducted by US Marines because they structured better and have more extensive MOUT training to conduct this kind of war.
Where is the Cop class?
As as local cop you get to be armed with a baton, tazer, a can of mace and a beanbag gun(prepare for a lot of kill assists). Your unlock will be a shot gun and real bullets for your side arm.
Your major weakness will be a 30 second delay after you inflict any harm on an enemy so that the lawyer class can determine if excessive force was used so that you can be punished.
