My company has descended further into clownworld.

During covid they panicked and bought a bunch of very specific microchips to ensure continued production.
After covid they realised they had bought far too many, and simultaneously tasked purchasing with selling them off and engineering with finding uses for them.
Engineering have designed and engineered a new product around this chip, completed field testing and almost completed the compliance testing ready for production prototypes.
Purchasing have sold them all off.

Now engineering need 3-6 months to re-engineer the product around a different chip, complete testing etc.
There are other knock-on effects, the product won't work in the same way, other parts have to be retooled, it won't interface with other products which have been engineered on the assumption that it would - they can be thrown away now.

It would be nice to think it would mean I would have more time to do my bit, which was already being compressed, but I'll bet it will be even more compressed.

We haven't had a project meeting since the news. I'm waiting to see the faces of the engineering team.
The whole project could now be unviable.

I've asked for a new project plan, as I have a line-up of actions which need to be done and they either need to continue, or be changed, or put on hold, or cancelled entirely.
There's no plan to produce a plan.

The responsibility for this seems to rest with one of two smug and offensive idiots - waiting to see which one.
Maybe there will be no consequences, maybe not.
What I've sure of is I'm not going to be breaking a sweat to get it back on track.

As expected, the sum total of his effort in three weeks has been to send out a request to complete the list of tasks I already knew about and had no particular interest in completing.

The email wasn't even addressed to me, it was addressed to himself, I think he figured out a way to do a mail merge from the database.

Bizarre - Is this how people think they'll get me to do stuff?

I am giving out detentions for the first time today. It is part of my admin internship. I realize the principal offloaded the dirty work to me. He made me the hatchet man.

I just filled out all of the paperwork. I gave only one kid the bad news. A kid in my homeroom.

She got 2 hour after school detention for being late to school. She explained that she is late because she needs to take her siblings to school. I tried to explain she needs to figure something out to get to school on time.

I am not enjoying this year so far. I wish I could spend my spare time just hunting girls on dating apps. I didn't have the time to do so this summer.

Time to send another email.

This kind of thing is fun but ultimately achieves nothing.

I finally did the detentions. I filled in for the VP. So I was in the office and everything.

"Hello I am Mr. Macbeth. The principal isn't here so he asked me to fill in and break the news to you. You have 10 lates to school. That means you get two detentions..."

"Why did you call yourself Macbeth? Your ID card says Frank..."

The dog was asleep somewhere. I could only smell it.

A kid fainted during cafe. We weren't sure the kid's name since they only come into our cafe to pick up their food and then go into the student center to eat away from everyone. Everyone knows the kid because she is a full goth in a school with uniforms. She just doesn't wear it and will instead goth out.

So once the kid fainted we needed to call an ambulance and do all that. No one knew her name though. So I went to the student center where she came from to find out her name. There were half a dozen students in the student center.

There was only one adult: a blind social worker with a dog.

The other workers went to lunch and left the blind lady to watch the kids. Or in this case, have the kids watch the social worker.

I didn't know exactly how blind the lady is. So I tried to explain to the blind lady what the kid I was looking for looked like.

The blind lady said "Sorry I can't help. I am blind."

So I leave the student center and I see two teachers waiting for me to see if I found out who the student was. I had to tell them "the only lady in there is blind." They started laughing. We were in the hallway laughing at a blind lady.

What kind of minor crime
