Bought a new watch. I think its this one

The $150 watches were a bit clunky and not really the style I wanted, the $240 watches are 'ecodrive' ie solar powered and should never need a battery.

This is the normal lifecycle of my watches - assuming they don't just get smashed.

Run ok 2-3 years
Battery replaced, runs six months.
Battery replaced again, craps out quite soon or something else fails - this time I couldn't adjust the time for daylight saving.

After I'd paid for it and the girl had gone off to adjust the strap I noticed another display thing hidden away with cheaper watches which would probably have done the job.
It would have been a bit mean to reverse everything at that point, and I was completely peopled out having picked up a new pair of glasses earlier so I said nothing and took the watch.

Now the waiting game begins

I plan to eventually get fitted for contacts but want to give the glasses a try first.

The total cost of the eye exam, frame, and the special lens they up sold me was $528. After insurance and my job reimbursement the total cost to me was only $130.

It's windows 11 so anything a PC can do can be done with this.

I wanted a more portable gaming device with higher end specs and while a new laptop was tempting, I liked the idea of the legion go better especially after encountering soldiers with nintendo switches and steam decks when I was deployed in Europe earlier. Plus, I like the detachable controllers, especially the right one able to be used as a vertical mouse. Only downside is battery life is terrible compare to steam deck or switch, getting only like 2-3 hours of Helldivers 2 at best so I end up having it plugged in most of the time.

The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.

Unlike Pokémon or sneakers though, sometimes authorized watch dealers will make you buy certain watches before you can buy the watch you want, which is why there's a huge grey market for high end watches.

Bought a new pillar drill, and splashed out on a keyless chuck.
I have a vague recollection that I've used a pillar drill with a keyless chuck in the past, but can't remember where, and it was worth having.

2023 Bolt EUV

Not exciting, awful color, but I drive maybe 2k miles a year and 99% of that is within 50 miles of my house so electric and boring is what I need. No frills, gets me from point A to point B. My car is not an extension of my personality so the quieter and unassuming the better.
I'm happy with it. Certainly an upgrade from my constantly broken 1999 Audi a4 (that I sold for $2k just two days ago).
