imo the rich could benefit in wealth and more than just wealth off of something like a more widely prosperous country that can actually afford to buy goods and services. it seems short-sighted that this isn't the goal. there are americans who can't even afford the bread and circuses anymore, let alone attend to their basic needs. "waaah waah, the homeless are making the streets dirty and unwalkable."
i refuse to feel bad for low-tier millionaires when their properties tank in value in ambient urban decay and get raided by scavengers. "waaah, i can't find any tenants!" better lower rent then, huh? or is there some other less-than-paragon reason you keep your properties perpetually unoccupied. "the democrats are crushing me! the cops can't do their jobs!"

hawaii: some people legit thought the photos were from like a new fallout or metro game or something. future war vibes for me, terminator style y'know. a person in my circles summered in that exact town awhile back. they're feeling pretty down about it, but they're a climate change skeptic/"centrist" (if that makes sense). not like they lost their house and everything in it, so measured thoughts & prayers in that direction.
i can't wait until shanty rentals run for $188,000/mo are available in fried, blasted northern landscape that makes death valley feel air conditioned. if 17 people work hard enough at four or five jobs each, they might be able to time-share not being homeless.

India is trending towards the same type of ethnic nationalism that Russia and China are stuck in. They seem to have a weird fixation on what "their people" do overseas. Smoking the Sikh guy in Canada was not cool. You are only supposed to kill your citizens with drones strikes.
The Nazis in Ukraine are genuine national heroes too. I am worried that once they recover all of their land they will be a place that exports Nazi terrorism like Afghanistan did with Islamist.

I would hazard that the far right in Ukraine is not as concerning as in, say, USA. That Ukraine's ultra-nationalists are receiving disproportionate attention and even boosts thanks to foreign media and propaganda.
