fwp: gun spring story from irl circle: person i've been listening to grumble about their late seed packet for the third week in a row finally got their seed packet. grumbling before the estimated delivery range, during, and a few days after. groaned internally when i was told they were on support chat with the seed people like the day before they got it, taking a reimbursement offer. they were going to write a check to compensate for the reimbursement (for a delivery issue quite out of the company's hands, i'd think). nice gesture i suppose, but breaking out the checkbook for a petty sum not even worth the postage is so boomer.
i very carefully did not tell them to leave any kind of review, positive or otherwise. there was no way they wouldn't embarrass themselves with it, and then i'd have to hear all about that too in addition to their previous social media woes. some people just need to go touch grass before typing anything. "the $4 seed packet i expected on the 16th showed up on the 20th, this was a terrible time for me." uuurrrgh…
i get that there are windows for planting stuff (it wasn't that late), but some zen wouldn't be uncalled for, and mentioned as much as non-patronisingly as such a thing can be worded. private gardens are supposed to be relaxing. that i wasn't scandalized on their behalf annoyed them. i don't imagine they wouldn't spend a fraction as much energy wringing their hands over whatever horrid sum in expired food they chuck a year, but it would probably annoy them if i'd pointed that out.
