Do you think he can swim?
Wow, surprising that the guy who assaulted women in a muscle car is talking about masculinity.
You can be as massive of a hypocrite as you want as long as you tell enough people that their opinions are correct.
So the Democrat won in Georgia. That's a big deal. Assuming we can keep Biden alive until 2024, I feel good going into that election.
With biden? or with someone new?
Barring unforeseen issues, Dark Brandon seems likely at this point to run for a second term. While it doesn't thrill me to look forward to another four years under a corporate Democrat, it's certainly better than a corporate Republican. I hope he beats Trump again, soundly. MAGA tears are ambrosia.
FWIW, Biden hasn't taken us backward like Bill Clinton did. He held the line and passed a few good bills.
The Republican fail in the midterms definitely united everyone around Biden. I am okay with the old man getting 4 more years if he can carry congress.

Be that as it may, this country still fucking sucks.
Railroad strike intervention was a terrible decision that takes us backwards.SuperJail Warden wrote:

I don't see Biden doing virtually anything to move this country forward. He's arguably more center-right than Clinton was, despite what any conservative says.
I'm interested in hearing your perspective as to what good He's done.
I wanted to bring up the strike intervention earlier. The economy is very important, of course. Except apparently the financial and work:life (W:L, lol) well-being of the very important, essential, American heroes who keep it moving.
It's funny how when a Democrat makes a callous decision, they get the grudging nod from some Republicans. I've heard him called the second coming of Reagan. Phew.

I will write a more detailed response later.
That said, I believe the Biden admin figured that the blue collar rail road workers were R voters anyway.

This is sadly true of a large chunk of blue collars, remaining staunch conservatives and MAGATs even as Republicans vote to screw them over on things like paid sick leave and other workers' rights.
I think if we can upswing the economy before Nov 2024, leave biden in to play out the final quarter of the game. If we hit the impending recession everyone is waiting for, we're going to have to look for a sub. And more importantly, we're going have to convince biden he's getting subbed out and not to piss and moan.
If the Republicans put up someone who can string a sentence together he's in trouble.SuperJail Warden wrote:

She isn't stupid. She is in character. No different than an Instagram influencer.
She's the opposite of woke. She's...asleep?
If you act stupid, you're still being stupid.

You'd have to be a moron to pay for an NFT

indisputable. but most of the people grifting the NFT game were just laundering their ill-gotten gains. quite good to exit from the crypto world with a book-keeping and taxation trick like ‘art investment’ tbh. paying $60,000 for a piece of clip art put together by your mate in 15 minutes makes sense in that view.
as with the entire crypto world, they got a majority of rubes to follow along and make it look more legitimate.

interesting essay reflecting, ~20 years on, from robert putnam's 'bowling alone: the collapse and revival of american community', a big talking point and cliché in the 2000s.
ramifications of increasing social atomisation on politics. seems pretty predictable enough but some nice insights from the author.

I wish I could reach through my computer screen and throttle every person who suggest shutting down the government or cutting off Ukraine until we SeCuRe ThE bOrDeR. National Review has a headline "No more support for Ukraine until we SeCuRe ThE bOrDeR." Possibly the most dick head position to have. Screw over the Europeans until the Democrats let you screw over the migrants.
How the heck are we going to secure the borders during a goverment shutdown? Also, funny how shutdowns are the fault of a democratic president, but with a republican in office it's only just to make him look bad.
Ukraine seems to be a point of division among republicans. Russia has lost some of its popularity here. Nearly all my conservative acquaintances are like "get 'em, Ukraine!"

Biden is going to mumble the Democrats to a loss.
