That finale was infuriating , I now have a few theories about where the characters lives interconnect, I can't wait till the fall for new episodes
I hope the 3rd season is the last season. Not because I dislike the show, because I love L O S T. But I want the answers and I think if the producers try to make it go too many seasons they'll end up ruining the show.
The writers have said its not going past season 5. they have storyboards drawn up for seasons three through five and have no intentions of shortening or lengthening it.

Can't watch Lost here right now.
The tv station involved always broadcasts 2 episodes linked together every week. Because they were gaining a bit too fast on the American broadcast they "paused" the series for now. Won't be back for another 2 months I believe.
This is obviously very bad planning but they starting showing the first season in 2 episode blocks and the demand of the viewers for the second season was so high they started broadcasting that a little sooner than intended. And the 2 episode method was maintained because people had gotten used to these long Lost sessions. If they would have broadcast only 1 episode at a time the viewers would probably have reacted negatively. Like denying a junkie his shot.

All I have to say is... "When do the DVD's come on sale for season 2?" because I'm gonna sitdown and rewatch that season.
I absolutely loved season 1, but season 2 was so different from season 1 that I think it even impressed me more. It went places I didn't even think it could and stuff intertwined so freakishly that it left me with atleast 1 or more jawdrops per new episode.
The season finale was nothing short of awesome. When he asked for the date the plane crashed, I about shit myself.
One thing I do know is this show is deeper than anything I've ever witnessed. Between the Hansofoundation website, phone numbers, emails, and countless hidden subsites of the hanso site all with sketchy info on characters that have only been hinted at... it's fun. Kind of like solving a mystery as you watch it unfold episode by episode. I'll be watching it till the end and then I'll watch it all over again.

So what are your theories on what the hell is going on on that island?
The theories I have had before have been:
1. They are all dead, but stuck in a limbo, and based on what they do on the Island they will either go to heaven or hell. The hatch-thing and "the others" kinda messed up that theory.
2. The others are offsprings from pirates that were on "the black rock" (the ship where they found the dyn-o-mite)
And this is my new theory:
