Plastic, I think. I'll have to dig it out from whatever junk drawer I left it in. Haven't used in a few years.
The whole surface should have been a passive heat sink.

Bought one of those "portable" A/C units off Amazon. I have the smallest & hottest bedroom in the house to start with, and the fact that I have so many electronics in here means it heats up even more quickly. The combination of boredom from not being able to play my games as long or at all, plus the shitty sleep I've been getting whenever somebody tells the thermostat to stop blowing A/C has been causing me a surprising amount of anxiety lately, so I might as well invest in the solution.
I wanted an actual window unit, but we have a very restrictive HOA here that doesn't allow them, or at least not for windows located in the front of the house, which is where this room's only window happens to be.

I actually hate having that stuff in a bedroom, although I get that some people would have no privacy to do their stuff otherwise.
What kind of nonsense, knockoff HOA has buildings without central air? Making rules about portable (probably louder than the window unit you'd have gotten, also taking up floor space) vs window installation, lmao.

We have central A/C in this house, it's just easily overpowered in this tiny room. I was doing some brief research on the legality of it and found out that apparently lots of HOAs in newer housing developments(where central A/C can more reasonably be expected) ban window units. I kind of get it because they can be considered to be unsightly and they can be hazardous if they fall inside or outside of the window, but I think you're also right: Everything I've seen indicates that floor units are pretty noisy, and I'm not thrilled at all about giving up even more floor space just to be comfortable in my own room when I wouldn't otherwise have had to.

It's not the most arbitrary rule I've read about but it's still annoying to hear restrictions on something like that. What if a home's AC goes out and the region's all out of floor units. Don't want your neighbors to see a tiny, 2 foot wide metal box on the upper floor of a house that people should really have no business snooping on. Better suffer instead.
Rather breakdance on thumbtacks than live under those petty tyrants. Why can't more HOAs have a simpler set of rules. Don't fill your yard with garbage. There, done.

I sold my car and bought a hybrid a few weeks ago. Now I can drive without paying £12.50 a day, thanks Boris.
Nice. My friend has one of those but it just sits in the parking structure at his apartment. Fun to ride in, anyway
The Camry hybrid is great value, because literally no-one wants a Camry.
Fuck Israel

out of all things to buy, you get the worst hybrid out there.
I narrowed down my choices to either this, a Taycan (but the waiting list was too long) or just forget the whole hybrid/electric thing and get a V12 Aston (maybe DBS). The Aston would have been the most fun but there were some quite attractive tax incentives to go for something with low CO2

I am no longer wearing my dress shoes to work. I spend too much time on my feet. So I bought those since they can pass for a dress shoe but also actually good for being on the feet. I briefly thought about buying the N balance but the giant N turned me off.
I am dressing down at work much more post COVID. What is anyone going to do? Good luck finding someone to replace me.

There are preventative measures for rust. Salt-mitigation coatings, spring oilings, aftermarket rubber floor mats fit to make/model. Check on condition when you go to change into winter tires.
there's a reason bmw is getting rid of their i8 tho.Dauntless wrote:

Brave of you to buy a Filipino boy
That shirt looks like it would seem photoshopped even in person.
e: lost opportunity/lazy design in them all having palm trees. makes zero sense for some of those teams. the one for seahawks should be a bunch of highway overpasses and homeless encampments, maybe a cop shooting someone in the back.

...the design is a palm trees design. Do you think palm trees are native to Las Vegas? Lol
Native? No? Feature? Yes. What is that post? Do you think highway overpasses and homeless encampments are native to Seattle?
While we're on it though, the Raiders were also in LA for awhile (where there are also (some imported) palm trees). It confused me as a little kid, who saw LA Raiders stuff but then old people would incorrectly correct me and say "Oakland."
an actually native palm in California
Defensive of a goofy fantasy football meetup shirt, lmao.

I don't think sports teams should be allowed to switch cities like that. Either they should stay in their original cities or be destroyed.

I lost what interest I had in the Sonics when they were stolen away to Oklahoma. Why would I root for an Oklahoma team? I mean, maybe if it were an American team in some international playoffs or something. But I would probably root against Oklahoma, the hugely red state that it is.
I bought a new car. Well, I placed an order for a new car. Isn't scheduled to arrive until end of Oct. I suppose I prefer to wait, that way if I second guess my purchase I can always cancel the order.
2023 Subaru Outback Wilderness edition. Finally pulled the trigger. I think I'm going to keep my Corolla as a daily driver. It only has 115k miles on it and still runs great. FWP time: I have a 2 car garage and one spot is for my gf's car so the corolla will have to sit outside

Nice, hope you enjoy it.
There's nothing quite like a countdown/build-up to getting a new car, it always gets me excited.
