Something needs to be done to stop the indoor light pollution.

These are all of the light coming from my computer. Just from the computer.

It is too much.

real d&st discussion here ...

didn't i always tell you to not buy shit with dumb LEDs or RGB? see through cases or giant window cases ... well, what do you expect?

i'm sure you can turn lots of devices off from power/standby mode (it saves electricity, too).

Indoor light pollution affects people way more than all the CO2 in South Korea.

These lights aren't coming from the tower itself. They are coming from the router and half a dozen other things attached to the computer.

hide them behind something? my router and electronics here are tucked behind my tv screen. works fine.

put a blanket or temporary night-time cover over them? it's not as if routers reach 70 degrees and overheat.

air pollution kills tens of millions of people every year. an order of magnitude more than covid ever did. i know you're trolling, but really. how stoned are you to create a 'debate' thread about 4 green LEDs in your bedroom?

There are 6 LEDs just from the computer. Then you have the T.V. etc.

drape ... a blanket or curtain over them? what do you want anyone to say.

god knows why your PC has 6 LEDs. mine has zero.

turn your computer off when you sleep? put it to sleep? if you have 6 LEDs on a computer that is on standby, you bought a stupid ass fucking case.

The computer is off. Like I said, it isn't the computer with the lights. It is stuff around it. For instance, the plug to the router has an LED. A plug to the HD enclosure has a LED as well as the enclosure itself. The shredder has an LED.

Should I put a drag over the T.V. too?

yes, we have all read those takes. isn't this more a tech thread than a 'debate and serious talk'?

an equal problem is the invasion of our sleeping spaces by tech. phones/tablets in bed, computers/desktops and office spaces in our bedrooms. the bedroom should be a tech-free zone. part of the problem is surely that you're sleeping next to half of your gadgets.

i sleep with one of these things anyway, it's a very high-tech solution to your high-tech problem.

for $5 you just fixed your whole problem. sleep-masks and earplugs have been indispensable for me, living in the middle of an extremely high-population-density metro area. covers problems in the event of a sleeping space not having adequate black-out curtains, too.

I've already posted about this stuff three times. I'm not allowed to complain about obnoxious LEDs and tiny lamp-screens anymore, or uzique will send me an AWM. Solutions above, to combat glow around the house. Little electrical tape and cardboard hatches if you still need to read a display. Close doors. Also, don't keep electronics in your room.

See you in the packaging thread, Mac.
