Maybe. That was before the pandemic though. I have a friend who was just going into nursing before this all hit, taking the classes, but got out of it and switched to another job.
Sounds like prisons in a way.mac wrote:
Comparing working on cars to people is strange. Plenty of unsafe cars went back into the road when the owners couldn't afford to do the repairs necessary to make the car safe.
Now is the best time to get in as a new teacher. A lot of melodramatic teachers. The pandemic wasn't bad. All of the money the federal government sent to schools shored up a lot of budgets. Old people who should retire finally had a reason to. Opened new positions across the board.
What did you major in in college?

Took computer networking/electronics in the 90s (fat lot of good old certs do now), media design/production in the aughts. Maybe I could help kids in the subject of getting enough technical proficiency to help become youtube millionaires while I put on my clown makeup for the next day at work.
Good schools do have media classes. Those range from classes on how to edit pictures to things like 'film' class where you watch and discuss movies. The guy I share a room with has a film class. Watches movies with the kids and talks about them. Interesting movies...Rocky,. Planet of the Apes, the Blind Side, etc. He is in his 50's and just started doing this after a lifetime of doing photography etc. Salary pension benefits etc. to watch and talk about films for 6 hours a day. Good for him. That could be you. You are wasting your talent managing pigmen trying to coup you.
lol.
Anyway, would I have to shepherd students into an assembly hall at a public school where a guest speaker will tell them they're going to hell?

You live in a blue state. The students might be the ones herding you into the auditorium to denounce your whiteness.
If they could provide a cogent argument to something of that effect I might have a chat with their civics teacher to give them extra credit. If they're feeling that engaged, they won't mind some more work.
The students in film class are watching the Breakfast Club. That movie is like CRT. It will fill the kid's head with nonsense.
As opposed to the nonsense Rush, and his/succeeded by cohorts have been filling people's heads with for the past 30 years, of course.
