Buried the cat's urn today. If we move house that'll be the time to scatter the ashes.

Also recited the Egyptian prayer for cats.

i just don't understand why a man of science would go through a burial/cremation ceremony and keep his pet in an urn? and bury it? that thing is just dead and inert matter now. you should have spread it on the vegetable patch for compost.

don't you think you're being a little bit irrational? mad perhaps? a fool?

real intelligent modern humans should do away with ritualistic burial practices and all that gibberish. it's a hangover of religion. supernatural thinking. imagine thinking a clump of dead matter should benefit from an urn! or imagine being so befuddled and confused in your own thinking that it should comfort your own emotions! a clear-sighted rationalist would see that the urn and burial business makes no difference whatsoever. confront the meaningless of life, and death, and the universe!

it's almost like ... the spiritual life ... has always been a rich and living dimension of human experience!
