I probably would put in the effort to respond to this more comprehensively were it pre-2021, but it just seems such an antiquated worldview these days. Trump is old news, having been relegated almost to obscurity post January 20 has been a welcome change, and while he still holds a lot of sway with his supporters and needs to be considered, he is damaged goods as a lying loser who a lot of people don't want to work with.

I try to go with logic
So your preferred sources are actually no sources? Your logic is what you think looks mighty sus? A gut feeling, rather than a literal mathematical approach to logic cemented in facts. "Logical" is such a buzzword these days.

Trump's travel ban wasn't really a ban at all. Even after restrictions were imposed, people were still entering the country and subjected to inconsistent screening rigor, and Chinese nationals were able to arrive from Hong Kong, Macau. He frequently cited it as having saved lives, but that hasn't been thoroughly evaluated (e: also, infected people arriving from elsewhere). Travelers arrived before the restrictions, and continued to arrive after.

So how about all the other stuff that you're using the "travel ban" to avoid talking about?

I understand that, as with the virus, a lot of people are eager to see the tail end of all this stuff. But I would give his remaining appointees and Trumpism in general more credit as a threat to smooth operation in this country.

It's not as if the man is off living in solitude on some island in the Mediterranean either. Still active, making rounds, doing interviews, and may run again. If he does, the people who are criticizing Biden's age out of faux concern ("elder abuse!") will drop that philosophy like a rock.

I didn't dismiss that. The GOP is still afraid to sever ties with him because he can bring them votes, even after January 6 and that fallout. They haven't jumped off the train yet. It's just refreshing for the news to not be a different, avoidable emergency each day and an unpredictable cycle of palace intrigue.

I don't think the GOP will get off the Trump train until Donald dies (as he deserves). Even if he blows the '22 and '24 elections for them, they will still support him because they are afraid of primary challenges. GOP media people are afraid of boycotts.

It is true that Donald can whip up pig people to go vote. All of the people who talk up his ability to drive record turnout for the GOP are of course missing the fact that he also drives record turnout for Democrats too. And even if Democrats manage to barely squeak out a victory during these high turnout elections, wins are wins. And he gives the Democrats a good unity of purpose. I still hope his plane crashes with all of his loved ones (including his grand children) in it though. That would be divine justice.

How nice of you to wish death on others, even little kids that don't know...

America has been dropping bombs on innocent children for decades. Spare we the sanctimony regarding wishing deaths on domestic political enemies and their loved ones. The wars your side started has cheapened life.

"The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them."

God wasn't above offing people's kids for doing less than Trump has. The Old Testament is clear that the children of your enemies are fair game. Also don't eat shrimp.

The faithful probably shouldn't try to usurp His authority on fate. I foresee more ARC donations in your future.

Was banning travel to and from China at the begginning of the pandemic a bad idea?

(And i'm not antivaxx by the way and i don't bash people wanting to get it.. i just want to wait until the trials are over.)
the major first wave of covid infections that killed a ot of people in new york city came from europe.

travel bans make sense but banning one country whilst there are epidemics raging elsewhere is dum dum.

it was done for headlines and made about as much sense as banning travel from a number of muslim countries over 'islamic terror threats'.

That's is really normal though for American right-wingers and their satellite Canadians. Communists = anarchists = socialists = Democrats. Pretty much all the groups the Republicans ever called bad are conveniently lumped into one boogeyman. Ask an informed Vietnamese person if they think Biden's a socialist, you'll get laughed out of the room.
