Whats going to happen when a black company owner decides he wants all black staff, a govt department head the same, or blacks are just generally over-represented and whites, asians, hispanics and certainly native americans under-represented. Any push for equality will be anti-blackism which will be as bad as anti-semitism.
It will then degrade into black tribalism, there'll be squabbles over how many nigerian-americans vs caribbean-americans, how many actual descendants of slaves vs recent refugees, whether descendants of plantation slaves should be treated better than house servants etc etc.

i think america is a very very long way off whites being under-represented, especially when you consider it's projected to become a non-white majority country by 2045'ish.
the fact when we discuss american politics or american history or american culture here, we are 95% of the time really only talking about white people, is perhaps a good indication of the disparity, don't you think?
when's the last time you actually took an interest in black history, dilbert? in viewing the civil rights movement as an actually significant thing for a sizeable portion of the american populace, and not just a stratagem or skirmish in some 'culture war', from the perspective of a defensive white?

NYT sent an alert out saying there is an inauguration concert today. Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, and John Legend plus others. My reaction was "this big Hollywood event will alienate 'Middle America' " Thinking it over...

A coworker was talking to me about what she was seeing on a live feed, so this actually was the first inauguration I watched any reasonable amount of. I was surprised by the Lady Gaga and J. Lo appearances, but whatever. Rich people gonna do out of touch rich people shit.
