most animals carry disease. the alternative is to pump them full of antibiotics or to chemical rinse the meat in nitrates/chlorine and ride out the inevitable anti-bio resistance apocalypse and/or colon cancer.

You're dodging your aversion to rabbit meat. A perfectly acceptable and traditional western food. I would feel better about a quality rabbit dish than the questionable food content from a hot dog vendor's menu.
