i think it's sad that you refer to yourself as broken. Put yourself back together, humpty numpty.

I would suggest most people start with a .357 revolver.
But if you get depression you don't really want a gun in the house.

I was thinking about getting a carbine chambered for 9mm.
It will be much easier finding 9mm ammo than it would be finding 5.56.

make sure you wear a cool shirt to the range letting everyone know you are part of a zombie apocalypse group too.Dilbert_X wrote:

Guys, can we agree that there isn't going to be an actual zombie apocalypse?
Its all a metaphor for social decay/collapse?
Thanks.

wow dilbert! this is a quantum leap forward for you. a movie or book can have a metaphorical meaning!!!
slow down there buddy. soon you'll be detecting the incredibly subtle themes in Star Wars.

No. I am literally preparing to fight the walking undead. There is no other collapse scenario that would be helped if I had a bunch of guns.Dilbert_X wrote:

I just got one of those Carcano cavalry carbines from Classic Firearms a couple weeks ago for $270 plus shipping. It was my first C&R purchase on my FFL 03 as well. Maryland FFLs typically charge $40 a transfer so for the $30 it cost me for the FFL 03, I've already broken even and I can have old guns shipped right to my house.
How have you lived in Ohio and never shot a gun?
The suburbs would be really tooled up I expect. You guys actually have the money t buy Kimber 1911's
or the USB .45
As a Korean American firearms instructor living in Michigan, these are the guns I would best trust for personal safety.

The USP you presented a picture of literally states its caliber is 9mm.
Anyway, if I want a hammer fired .45 and not going classic, FNX 45 has always peaked my interest.

The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
99 Times out of 100 the average person would be better off with a revolver.
I always fancied a Colt Detective Special
A model 10 is about the most serviceable handgun you can buy
If you have to make it an automatic I think a Beretta Series 80 is the most ergonomic pistol I've ever held.
I'd take a couple of hits with a compact .32 over a miss and a jam with a bulky and unwieldy .45 any day.

I actually have a concealed carry permit, though I don't always carry. Out of the revolvers, I'd probably recommend a lightweight hammerless for "everyday" packing. You'll forget it's there and it won't get snagged on clothing. One or two speedloaders should suffice if you carry any extra at all.
Of course, gun sites might disagree with me on What An Armed Person Should Have ("what you actually want for all occasions is this gigantic 9mm semi-auto!"). But if you expect to get into shootouts where you need like six backup magazines or whatever, I'd recommend moving.

Before I became a social justice liberal, I was raised a somewhat hardliner Republican. It's considered an American thing to do, and enabling for self-defense. I'm legally allowed to do it. Washington is also an open carry state (though I do not recommend open carrying). The vast majority of the time it's at home. Most of the time I take it with me, it's to the range to hone my shooting skills. Most of the time I go shooting, it's to hone my archery skills because that doesn't overload my sense of smell and taste.
A lot of places have their own rules about firearms permitted or not. To avoid breaking them, you'd have to leave it in the car a lot and risk theft.
As a side note, while it's definitely not anything like the most ultra-violent area of the country, I don't live within too long of a drive from where police were shot dead at a coffee shop near JBLM. You can thank Huckabee for getting that guy out of prison.
Or more recently, when police executed an antifa demonstrator (also not far). You'd think more libertarian-types and libertarian-type press would have been more unnerved by that affair than they are. But "communist antifa terrorist" is a pretty convenient fear trigger in dulling conflicting reports from police and witnesses alike.

So I have a new neighbor. Brawny hot head. I first came to notice him the other day when he was yelling at the garbage men about something.
Today I heard and saw him walking up and down the street yelling into his phone at someone. Pretty angry about something.
So what kind of gun do I need to protect myself?

That's an awesome choice.
So after I get the AR pistol how do I show the guy I mean business and can't be cucked with? Do I tell him I have a gun or do I walk around with it when he is around sometime?

get your mom or dad roomates to go talk to him
What if he yells at my mom or tries to fight my dad? Am I allowed to kill him then?
i was gonna go shooting today since i havent gone in like over a year but fuckin everywhere is sold out of ammo. idk if its cause of black friday (which i forgot about) or if ppl are still panic buying cause of the election/lockdowns or what. i only have a shotgun and a glock so i just needed some 9mm and 12 gauge but couldnt get any. mostly just wanted to shoot some clay pigeons and have fun but oh well

Take up archery!
