to be fair it's in their interests to say that. you are keeping them in a job. every lawyer i've met who works in education took the lecturing jobs because the actual profession was over-subscribed. lol.
I wonder what the jezebel girls are saying right now, especially since it wasn't just hulk hogan who had his privacy violated.

I don't see the appeal of being a business lawyer anyway. Criminal law seems like a much more fulfilling job.
You don't need to read about sex tapes and gossip websites to understand the argument. But i'll take the blame for taking the bait on responding to your post when you clearly didn't know what you were talking about.uziq wrote:
very unlike me? you think i'm going to spend my spare time reading about celebrity sex tapes and gossip websites? frankly I'm surprised you have such a lowest common denominator website on your default internet go-around. i thought that stuff was only interesting to teenage girls and perez hilton.
i read deadspin - it's a sports journalism site under the Gawker umbrella. They also used to have an awesome site dedicated to the military industrial complex, but that was shuttered during a mass exodus that was a result of the main editors complaining about censorship (incredible irony here, right) due to increased pressure by the advertising arm of Gawker. I don't read Gawker that much unless there's an interesting politcal story (they have pivoted a little towards politics lately, what with the impending election and all).
I generally can't stomach the negative tone that Deadspin and Gawker (and a lot of new digital media sites like VICE) use in their writing. They have some really solid writers that write about important stuff. Just like a lot of places on the internet, you have to wade through the garbage before you reach it. Unfortunate reality.
or just go straight to the NYRB/new yorker/LARB etc. and skip shit click-based journalism altogetherKEN-JENNINGS wrote:

I've done all the required criminal subjects and all I can say... It's very 'mathematic' if you will.
The worst thing about a defence lawyer is when your client is screaming when they're dragged out of court and about to sent to jail. Takes a huge emotional toll. Oh and all of your clients will pretty much lodge a complaint against you if you don't win. You're dealing with the scum of the world as a criminal defence lawyer.
Worst thing with commercial law is when somebody loses a bit of money lel.
People have different interests in law and they're all equally valid. Tax advisory is where it's at homie.
0 money in defence unless you're backed by the mafia who'll later gun you down

It's not all shit click-based journalism. I have a plethora of sites on my daily reading list, including the New Yorker, Economist, Guardian, NPR, etc. Guess what - I don't click on every link on those websites either! It's actually very easy to avoid. I also listen to NPR in my car. I'm a very cultured man with many eclectic tastes - and no, those tastes don't include other men or celebrity gossip.
So if Gawker won, and they decided to release the whole tape...would you watch it?
haha nope. Why would i? I'm past the point of celebrity or internet voyeurism. It used to interest me to some degree when I was a little younger. Now, notsomuch.
Couldn't care less about fappening pics either. My little bro once showed me a pic of Rihanna topless smoking a blunt or something, but I don't know if that was from that leak or something else. It was pretty fucking sexy though.

can't believe i forgot to list bf2s as one of the sites on my daily reading lists. Sorry guys
Here's something I can actually relate to, someone having made a veiled threat to post a video of me on the internet unless I forego a claim on a debt of $40,000.SuperJail Warden wrote:
How does everyone feel about this? I believe that Gawker will win this case on appeal. Hogan's sex tape may not have been newsworthy but a sex tape can be. And in the interest of government accountability, it should be protected.
I've told them to post it on Porn Hub, and send me the damn money.
The internet is a big enough place that no-one will likely find it, pretty well no-one I know would give a shit, and my Subaru is about ready to be replaced.
Its a bit different if you're a celebrity I suppose.
Fuck Israel
the dilbert sex tape is possibly the only thing on the internet that could be less sexy than the gene simmons sex tape.
Snuff films are sexier

How did you both find that video?

RIP Gawker Media. At least its offshoots will live on as Univision properties.
