A disabled veteran jumped from a parking garage at the Philadelphia Veterans’ Affairs medical center Thursday morning, killing himself. The veteran was seeking psychiatric treatment at the facility.

My grandfather is a Korea veteran and his dialysis is done through the VA. He has no complaints. I am sure there are plenty of other veterans who are happy with it too.

The VA system has obvious issues though. Why can't we just give veterans special health insurance cards and force medical providers to accept them in return for reimbursement from the government?

Dude, the VA is the open fiery maw of hell. Shut the fuck up about shit you don't understand.

Huh? I just supported changes to help veterans that go beyond the VA.

my uncle caught agent orange in nam. he lives four hundred miles south. i see him once a month because we have a VA hospital here.

oh yeah -he lost a kidney, that's why we see him.

good thing he filled out his paperwork in '68 (that's 1968 for most of you registered assholes)

How does one veteran's suicide relate to the overall satisfaction rate with the VA, or your grandpa's kidney problems? Are you saying this guy killed himself because he didn't like his psychiatrist?

You really have to ask?

How do you decide on cost limits? What happens if covering medical providers puts whatever agency is created or expanded to take care of this over-budget? Does America just give doctors the big finger again?
