I had a poop that I saved up for a couple days cos I was carving up on the mountains
kind of sad to see it go, but I haven't posted on here since a llllllooooong time ago... five years or so, but I occasionally lurk.
I went through some major medical problems mid 2000s, I couldn't walk and was on all sorts of meds; playing BF2 high as a kite on painkillers, or if I wasn't playing BF2, lurking, sometimes posting, usually enjoying the banter here. BF2 was a big part of my ample, medical-leave free time and so was BF2s. It distracted from the pain and gave me a little fun in an otherwise really crappy time in my life. In fact, despite BFBC2 also dwindling out, I still rock my BF2s "clan" tag (from a few weeks ago):

So, farewell BF2s, thanks Chuy and all the mods and people for a lot of time I spent (not wasted) soaking in the weirdness of all you strange people that loved the same game I loved.
EDIT: Turns out i've long forgotten how to properly post a picture on here.
And for funsies, here's some of my other stuff im posting:
The super secret original screen of BF2 awards, including removed ones:

BF2s! (super old screenshot)

The old stats page

and hey, sergeriver, Alice In Chains is still pretty awesome. Not nearly as much, but not bad either.

Homosexuality would probably make a lot more people happy if they gave it a try.

9 days to go, been fun guys.
Open the mod forum. I need to read my thread(s)KEN-JENNINGS wrote:
I just looked up some stuff in the mod only forum and it looks like you've had a few chances now. I have a few posts in there saying i'm gonna ban you though.
Yeha open the mod forum
I don't have a mod note - I'd like the mod thread opened so you guys can all see that there isn't one.
Fuck Israel
Fuck Israel
Given this is likely my final chance to write something I feel I should do an official farewell of sorts.
Um, see you guys. I guess. Probably will see some of you around the Internet. Facebook page, Steam, whatever. Maybe in real life, who knows. If you come across a comment page where someone going by the name of Peter or Simon has written an ungodly amount of drivel about some mundane topic related to Australian or New Zealand politics chances are that's me so feel free to say hi.
It's been quite a journey. I was 18 when I signed up here. I was still at school. I looked like this:
Nearly ten years later a lot has changed but for some unknown reason I'm still here - albeit older, uglier, and more tired and cynical. And with less greasy hair.
I've never had to say goodbye to a forum before and I have no idea how to do it so I'll just say that I don't know why this place is special and I don't know why it's kept ticking on for so long. But for whatever reason here we are so thank you everyone for being part of it. I don't think it's easy to determine exactly what this forum has meant to me personally and maybe it will take it not being around in the same way for me to work it out. It was a big part of my life for a couple of years, less so now, but it was still there and it's going to be strange not coming here to vent whatever frustration or attempt whatever dumb stab at being funny or clever and have a patient audience that won't hesitate to placate or feed my ego. Or call me a fuckwit - whatever is most appropriate.
I'll miss it. And I'll miss everyone here too regardless of whether I had reason to think you were a twat at one stage or another and regardless of whether I run into you at some other time in some other place - which I hope I do. This place was made by the combination of compatible and incompatible people that frequented it so while I hope to keep in touch with many individuals as possible it will be sad to see this bizarre maelstrom of personalities be dissolved. At least it'll still remain as a lasting legacy to whatever the Hell it was we did here.
So again; thank you everyone. For the fun, for the frustrations, for the laughs, for the teasing, for hearing me out, for arguing against me, for the abuse, for the idiotic things you've said, for the interesting things you've highlighted, for the awesome things you've made me aware of, and for everything else that has in one way or another influenced my life in some small way over the last ten years.
All the best for the future.
Noho ora mai,
- Peter Seay
P.S: I'll let you know how the NZ flag thing turns out.

It's been fun guys. I'm not going to write a lot other than to say I feel a bit sentimental about it all.
Work hard and play just as hard, pursue your goals and when you achieve them, set new ones. As the saying goes "may all your dreams bar one come true"; purpose is the meaning of life.
(I didn't mean to wax philosophical, it kinda just happened.)
Bon voyage and adios.
All the best,
- Jacob Parker
PS: I never did post a pic of myself on here. So here's one from four weeks ago, in my kitchen, taking a sip of Penfold's Grange 2007 straight from the bottle:
(the suit is tailored cashmere by the best tailor on Koh Samui. Bit of a change from jeans, chucks, leather jacket and NIN/TOOL/SOAD/etc t-shirts
