The site being down for so long was a sad reminder of it's slowly approaching demise. I'm really going to miss everybody here and I wish everybody a happy life. I spent a good portion of my younger years here talking and gaming with you guys. As this site dies, so does a part of my childhood in a sense. That may sound a little more dramatic than I feel but I will miss it.
So I got a sweet IT gig and I'm now in Verona, New York working on a project at the casino. Before that I did wireless heatmapping of the entire UCLA campus' hospital. Not sure where they'll send me next.

When I was a kid it was a dirty semi dangerous place full of pawn shops peep shows and hookers. Now it's a boring playground for the rich where everything is clean safe and sterile. Even the supposed poor people are just actors on a stage filling the role during the day and going back to $2000/mo rented apartments at night. Fuck Bloomberg and Giuliani.

It's one thing if it was real new yorkers making the changes, but it's not. The people driving up the real estate to astronomical levels are essentially tourists with enough money to pay cash for an apartment for the few weeks a year they are in town. New York has become Dubai - west. It would be cool if they actually put something into the economy besides higher rent and property values, except nyc has almost no property taxes.
