this one is better
he tazes a guy and then pulls his gun with the other hand to scare off the guy's friends. in the middle of a crowded mall.

i do have to say that the whole 'worldstarhiphop' culture is completely poisonous. it's not racial-genetic, or any sort of science as dilbert would have maintain, but those sorts of cultural trends and patterns are self-destructive. glorification of violence and celebration of all sorts of thuggery and low life activity. that shit is a drag on poor and oppressed people. it's like when i said to you about sucking white-corporate cock music. it's this system of culture that promotes certain ideological beliefs and values that are completely unproductive and unhelpful. the pursuit of bling being one of those 'obvious' examples to arise out of the 1990's hiphop culture.
i remember i had to watch this film as some secondary material for a second-year course module. it's a good movie.

And I asked you what aspect of culture am I supporting that I'm sucking the white mans cock? lolUzique The Lesser wrote:

You're stating the obvious. Of course this is poisonous but its fucking hilarious once you take off the critic glasses and look at it as comedic value.
i don't find it funny. i don't think it has anything to do with 'critic glasses'. some people just don't find gratuitous and senseless violence funny, i guess. mysteries of the universe.
oh and i'm not gonna dredge up that topic yet again. it was just a tangential point. more people are immersed in a culture that is detrimental to them than are genuinely interested in any sort of authentic heritage/tradition. it's a hallmark of capitalism, really, across all cultures. everything is commodified and any other qualitative values are slowly eroded and emptied out.

Yup that's life unfortunately. Once I see people wearing Harlem shake tshirts i remember why I don't like capitalism.
so you have a problem with harlem shake t-shirts but then you're happy to laugh at footage of people being violently assaulted.
okay. sounds like there's more problems involved here than just 'sigh, capitalism'.

People getting violently assaulted? lol the bitch was ratchet as fuck and deserved to get punched out. That's funny.
Harlem shake tshirts is not funny or redeeming in any way.

This is a seriously retarded conversation going on here
I'd much rather watch some Syrians go to full out civil war with assault rifles and rpgs than watch some dumbass negros fight over a stall in a discount shopping center

I agree that 90's rap music caused a shift to how black people and white people do things like interact with others on trains. Black people
and white people
and white people
i hope you are not being sarcastic because i do not see people acting that way to each other on public transport in europe.Macbeth wrote:

last time i was on a subway in nyc there was a white rapper rappin
then he went round and asked each person money so he could go to a recording studio
even though no one gave him any money he said thanks and told us all to have a good night, seemed like a nice guy

the film is full of hilarious white dude rapping scenes
I liked it. Friends and critics didn't. Thought it was well done and made appropriate mockery of politics without sacrificing quality or character.
Of course, some of the same people who didn't like it liked An American Carol, so who am I kidding.

Its simple logistics, would a TV company put a film crew in the Hamptons for six months waiting for a murder, or send them to Detroit where they can trawl the morgue every morning and pick the most interesting/bullet-riddled candidate?Uzique The Lesser wrote:
fair enough. i remember there is some historical analysis of that sort of show that definitely shows there being a bit of a race bias in the past. different time though, i suppose. also, lol: "as someone who watches cops fairly regularly" sounds like one of the most depressing vignettes of mid-west existence imaginable
Crime and violent crime tend to be highest in poor neighbourhoods, and
+ rap music
=>
So First 48 generally picks poor areas.

well of course. no one is disputing that. it was already covered earlier in the "conscious/intended or not" point. the point is that even if they're just commonsensically representing something, unconsciously it could have a detrimental effect. it's a perfectly valid media theory'ish critique that tv stations or a media industry that only show black violence/crime/murders and then successful dramas about white doctors/lawyers/yuppies tends to just reinforce the extant power structure. they become ideological apparatuses: force-lines of cultural entrenchment, rather than change. just like if tv executives continually only book/schedule a condescending and idiotic form of comedy for black people. it lowers the whole tone/style of the culture. kind of like how people over here complain about the bbc emptying out its core valueset to milk in season after season of lowest common denominator tabloid humour and gross-sensationalism: it's seen somewhat as a reneging on their civic responsibilities.
You're probably right.Uzique The Lesser wrote:

I regret that the media have lost their way and while they used to be a beacon they're now trying to drive the lowest common denominator lower.
Fuck Israel
The mods should really ban for racism it's rampant on this forum.
This Western media obsession with gang rapes in India and other places makes me feel uncomfortable. Every comment section for one of these news articles is a bunch of people talking about how terrible and undeveloped India is.
Macbeth thinks because they hosted the Olympics they must be alright.
