i like coffee, but i like it with milk and sugar. i also like iced coffee. however, i brew coffee out of the cheapest little shit-machine ever, so i'm thinking of getting a french press. anyone have one or have any opinions about that?

I like my french press. Makes very good coffee because it doesn't have a paper filter stripping out all the essential oils.

is it true you need to have more coarsely ground coffee so it doesn't seep through?

I prefer local cafes over franchises.

At home I drink Nescafé Tall Black, as it's probably the best instant coffee I have tried. Would much prefer to get a proper little espresso machine one day though.

Nah, you're going to end up with some sludge in the bottom of your cup no matter what. Still the best tasting way to make coffee hands down.
