Shifty bin watching 2 many old school movays
Oh, well that's pretty much how I shoot anyway when I'm standing. Except I lean forward way less.
And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.
Bend you knees, lean forward but try and have your chest perpendicular (as opposed to your lower back). It'll stop you from putting your centre of mass too far over your toes, and you should be able to deal with recoil.

Nah my safety is 110% I just wanted some stance tips. Not dishing out money for crap I can get free online.

A class for shooting, derp. And if you think your safety is 110% I guarantee it isn't.
You're not going to learn anything online or shooting fridges at point-blank range.
Put up a target at 1200 yards and see how you go with your M1.
Or try some competitions to see how its really done.

A mini-14 would only be good up to around 400 yards.
I guarantee you my safety is perfect. Gun is unloaded until I'm at the firing line, the gun is always pointed in a safe direction, my finger is always off the trigger until my sights are on target, gun is on safe, nobody is in front of me, etc.

You didn't get an M1 then?
But you know everything so its all pointless.
If you think your safety is 110% you're overconfident.Sh1fty wrote:

Why are we trying to teach him when he wants to go on a "criminal-killing" massacre?Adams_BJ wrote:

If you are not even sure if your stance is right, you need to go get some instruction!
Stance and grip are pretty fundamental to marksmanship.
You need to learn stuff. Don't be embarrassed, as everyone starts somewhere.
Video and internet instruction can only get you so far. If you want to learn more and get better, you need to get some professional grade instruction.

I learned to shoot a gun from my dad who had been shooting since he lived on a farm when he was a teenager.
...never needed any class.
I watched youtube vids to get my grip better and learned how to line up sights quicker/smarter.
I asked a few people who did have much experience too for a bit of help.
And I can't hit shit.

Oh that guy. Yeah he's in jail now for something completely unrelated to guns. Turns out he was a piece of shit but none of us knew it at the time.Dilbert_X wrote:

Seems like you don't know a lot of stuff at the time.
Its all figured out now though.
hindsight is always 20/20

Keep that in mind while you are still at the time you will be looking back on, eh?

Only thing I can do is take advice from older people. Thing is I look back at my highschool years and shake my head. We all do that. We all want a better future, but as a highschooler would I have listened to myself now? I'm not sure, and I'm not sure if you would have listened to your future self either so to speak.Adams_BJ wrote:

I would, I'm pretty smart and my future self can only be smarter.
Stop shooting TVs with yeehas, join a proper shooting club, , learn to shoot.

Ain't nothing wrong with shooting TVs with yeehaas. Shooting paper targets at 400 yards isn't fun. Blowing up glass coca-cola bottles at 50 yards with friends is fun.
I know how to shoot. Just because my stance isn't perfect doesn't mean I'm not on target and being unsafe.

How do you know you know how to shoot?
If you were shooting coca-cola bottle-tops at 50 yards I'd say maybe.
Alternatively find a coach, someone who knows what he's talking about, not just some dickhead with all the latest guns.

It isn't rocket science. Yeah you can fire a 7.62 hundreds of yards with pinpoint accuracy. I don't need that. I run to walmart, grab some ammo, and head out to the desert with friends and shoot things into tiny pieces. There is nothing to know besides gun safety. Shoot how you feel comfortable.
I'll worry about 100% gun perfection when I'm in the Corps.
