XM, my next pistol is a P226 Mk25. I like the P226 almost as much as a FN/Browning HP MkIII.

Get the Xtreme like mine, definitly worth the extra dough.  Aggressive checkering on the grip, tact rail, night sights, short reset trigger and sexy.

pretty detrimental, but not as dangerous as your car doing 60 mph with snow on both sides of the road and the stupid fucker waiting til your within 20 feet to make a break for it.

Not as much stopping power as a higher caliber hunting rifle, but enough to do the job if placed properly.

I wish they'd allow the P226 in service pistol competition.

Real hard to get enthusiastic about M9 practice.

Now, a P226 X-SIX PPC looks like fun.

I may just be bored with M9's and AR-15's.
Have been using my Browning HP and Winchester 70 pretty much to the exclusion of all other firearms lately.

It can work, but it's not the preferred choice.

30-06, .243, .270, or .308 would be better.
Proven hunting rounds, with manageable recoil and rifle weight.

Good old reliable 6.5x55 Swedish has been killing game animals for ages now too.

The onion is pretty accurate in their description of guns
Following today’s mass shooting that left 20 young children dead at a Connecticut elementary school, numerous sources across the country reported that their government-protected right to own a portable device that propels small masses of metal through the air at lethal rates of speed is completely worth any such consequences. “It’s my God-given right and a founding principle of this country that I be able to own a [piece of metal that launches other smaller pieces of metal great distances, one after the other], and if a few deaths here and there is the price we have to pay for that freedom, then so be it,” said Lawrence Crane of nearby Danbury, CT, who is such a staunch advocate of the portable deadly-pellet-flinging apparatuses that he keeps multiple versions of such mechanisms in his home, often carries one with him, and is a member of a club whose sole purpose is to celebrate these assembled steel things and the small bits of metal they send flying. “Sure, it’s sad that a few kids died, but it’s far better than the tyranny that would result if the government came and took away all our [mechanical contraptions that make a lot of little pointy chunks of metal go through the air fast]. Can you even imagine what kind of horrible world that would be?” The man added that if the events that unfolded today led lawmakers to question his ability to possess any such items of steel and lead, authorities would have to “pry the [wholly inanimate mechanical object, nothing more, nothing less] from [his] dead hands.”

Think it was just before the Batman movie shooting that the Onion released a "today marks the longest period in American history that has not been marked with a mass shooting"

They had to then release a quick amendment to the article mentioning how short lived the milestone was.

I would like to get an old German P228.

My SP2009 and P226 have been good shooters. SA on the 226 is awesome.

Hard to argue with people who don't even know the most basic of facts.  Just stick to your argument of GUNZ R BAAD.

I pass way more supermarkets than retail gun shops.

They are probably counting every store that sells .22 firearms and hunting rifles.  So, every Wal-Mart, K-Mart and 2nd rate pawn shop is considered a major arms dealer.  They just clone Nic Cage a bunch of times to sell arms to everyone.

So are they counting the walmarts in both categories?
Even if I included the walmarts in retail gun shops, but didn't include them in the supermarket category, there would still be more supermarkets.
There are a lot of pawn shops that sell guns, but their prices are shit. I guess when you include them, it brings the numbers closer, but almost double? Sure doesn't seem like it around here.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
you can buy ARs in Walmarts here, but they still haven't brought handguns back

I thought all the Kmarts stopped selling guns and ammo, like 10 years ago?

Absolute rubbish journalism. Completely one sided.

I don't have to worry if some idiot is carrying a gun when I walk through the streets.

They had a bit on the beeb last night about when Australia bought back all the major firearms after a massacre in Tasmania(?) and there hasn't been another incident like it. Doesn't prevent the problem of gun crime completely, but it certainly restricts it.

Unlikely to be a practical solution for the U.S though, unfortunately.

There is no 'practical' solution to speak of in the US because there are too many people that are downright nutty about their guns.  It's kind of funny in a sad way that I'm painted as an anti-gun nutjob here when I've professed how much I like shooting, even posting a shitty video of me shooting my friend's AR.  Stupid people aren't going to stop being stupid anytime soon.
