I just installed the battlefield 2 and just joined server and some players told me to register on forums to get ranked up.Can you please tell me how can i get ranks pretty please?Is there some kind of things i should do before i get ranks other than killing stuff?I mean some told me to add some ip to my host file etc but i couldnt understand due to some peeps spamming messages in game. Please enlighten me !

If you are still not ranking up, be sure that you are playing the latest version of BF2. The ranking system only works with the most recent version of the game.

This is the correct update procedure for the retail version:
BF2 -> SF -> 1.41 -> 1.50
Get those two patches here!
You can skip SF if you don't have it, or if you installed the Deluxe Edition or Complete Collection.
