"In the past how did adhering to a certain rule and convincing others to do this help you increase efficiency?" or something along the lines of that.  That was the most corporate one, it's basically like saying "Assuming you like our rules and would suck their proverbial dicks if they asked you to, how did this increase how much money you would make for us" in my opinion

I gave some bullshit story about teaching people how to use Norton Ghost because they were using something else on the Hiren's disc that didn't do things as fast.

Somebody on some job-finding forums from 2008 mentioned that for Best Buy, as your first interview you would normally go in and sit down for what they asked me over the phone on Monday so I think they might've changed it

It's always harder to answer those questions from normal school/friends existence, you need ot do something different, then think of examples that relate to that and show how you do something different.

Well I used to work at a place that had a 'must wear pants' rule. wtf right? Well when we adhered to the rule we no longer got our dicks stuck in the copy machine. The copy machine efficiency was much increased.

Interviews suck, I know I have what they want but I have everything invested into this job so it's only right that I'm gonna get nervous for the one major determining but also inconveniently socially oriented event.  I don't want minimum wage flipping burgers, I know I'm qualified to do this, but because I can't play the bullshit questions and answers game correctly, I probably won't get the job.

I fucking knew this was gonna happen as soon as I had to do one

Do lots of interviews for any job going. Turn them down if you get offered, then you get free practice for the job you do want.

Sounds like someone needs to grow the fuck up and look for a different job. Best Buy sucks as a job anyways.

Quit my job at the dealership I worked at. I was making 2 hours a day while being there for 8 so it wasn't worth my time. If anything I was losing money with my commute. Going from making 10+ hours in an 8 hour day plus to making shit sucks. My old boss could get me a full time at the Honda dealership he now manages but I won't be able to go to school if I took it. First time I will be unemployed for more than a week since I was 16.

Auto tech. Strange day job I know. Better than being unemployed though.

How did they get away with paying you for 1/4 of your time? You're paid per job, then, right?

Yes. It is not as bad as it sounds. At the Honda dealership some techs are doing over a 100 hours while working 4 days week.

Warranty pays less than CP. Hitting warranty is a nice way of making free hours...

If you get serviced at a small dealer and they tell you at the end that they did xyz recall or found abc problem and warranted it chances are there was no problem and they are just telling you that they did the job for free so that you like them better while at the same time they get free pay from corporate and warehouse the parts even though they never touched the thing they said they warrantied. Usually the dealer and the tech split the time.

So it goes.

What's that boss? I've only been here 4 weeks but you want me to move desk? To a more specialist department? Well ok then!

More specialization isn't always a good thing...at all. For example, there are plenty of guys on car assembly lines who are highly specialized in applying grease to door hinge part #39-908.

Hahahaha you miserable bastard.

It means I get to apply my technical knowledge in a way that I wasn't able to do it my current role.

Yeah, I'm not saying it can't be useful for learning/applying a new skill, but be sure that new skill doesn't become your only skill. Nobody with influence got to where they are without knowing a little bit about everything relevant to their industry.

At my old job, the guys in the 'specialist' departments slaved over computer code and weren't invited to meetings

They're falsifying the time sheets. They're charging hours to the car companies on recalls that were never done.
