Fleet Week!!!

It is Fleet Week here in the New York Harbor. Military ships from around the world come sailing into the harbor. the Fort Hamilton army base fires a 21 gun slute to each ship, and the ships fire back (blank rounds of corse). During my day I saw ALOT of military aircraft. I saw 2 Blackhawks, 1 US Coastguard Blackhawk, 4 AH1Z Cobras, 5 Chinnooks, 1 Huey, and I believe this thing (not sure thought, it flying by fast and high) http://www.wallpaperbase.com/wallpapers … rier_6.jpg

That plane is an EA-6B Prowler, the Navy and Marines use them for Jamming radar. You don't see them too often any more though, they are pretty old. Itls a bigger 4 seat version of the A-6 Intruder (the bomber).

well the one I saw was the A-6 I think, cause it was kinda small. It was soooo fucking cool seeing all of those aircraft.

We have something kind of like fleet week here in the Seattle area called SeaFair. Bunch of Navy ships come in to port. You can take tours or the ships. You can adopt a sailor for the weekend. They have hydroplane races and airshows (Blue Angels) etc. It's pretty fun. Love seeing those big ships. Would be awesome to see the 21 gun salute thing though.

Wasn't sure if you were asking what kind of aircraft that was but it's an A-6 Intruder Not use which variant but I think it's either A or E. We have a squadron of those based up here north of Seattle.

Im from the city aswell; my birthday is on the 27th, when I can I go down to the Intrepid on the days surrounding it...

You did not see Zulu Cobras...

Doods, this place I go camping out in Darrington....they fly those things thru the vallies like HELLA fast. Scares the shit outta you. No joke. It's all piecefull and quiet and the "ZZZZHGDKFDGCDAHPOWZZZ!!!" right over your friggin head!!! They do their map-o-D-erf training out there. It's the coolest shit since chocolate soft-serve@DairyQueen.
I was camping out there on 9-11. No jets that day, I thought "huh, weird?!?" and then we turned on the radio....
I saw a commercial airliner do a 180 @ about 35,000 feet. Crazy shtz yo. I luv them Prowlers or Intruders or whatever they are. They are the loudest jets in the US military arsenal (so I've heard..."don't quote me boy cuz I aint said sht") (That's for you Heart_Attack) They come out from the Whidby Island Naval Base like homeslice was saying.

Sober enough to know what I'm doing, drunk enough to really enjoy doing it

D6717C is right. That is a Prowler. It's pretty much based on the intruder airframe, but has an elongated midsection for 2 more electroninc countermeasure crew members and equipment. Very cool to see either of those aircraft non-the-less.

Oh yeah, I love Sea Fair. The Blue Angels are pretty cool, but eventually get a bit irritating when you're trying to work. I had to work during this year's Sea fair and I missed taking the aircraft carrier ride. Did anyone from Seattle go on it? I'm so irritated I missed it!

Yeah, I bet the sailors get "adopted" by a lot of the local women, eh? I wouldn't do that if I had a daughter, let me tell you.

Sucks also that the ships don't fire any of their guns here, even if they were blanks.
