Really working hard on my mid-irons right now, they are letting me down big time. Went from a 4 back up to a 7 handicap, although I drive the ball like a scratch player and putt pretty well, anything longer than an 8 iron is holding me back right now.

that's pretty good, i had been a 9 before winter set in. i always seem to play Seve golf - wild off the tee, long irons go in the right direction, then my 61 º wedge bails my ass out. i do better lag putting it seems, i pull too many short putts not paying attention.justice wrote:

to get my mid irons going, i go to the range and pull my 9 iron first. i do not touch another club until i can make it do exactly what i want. then 7, 5, 3, 4, 6, 8, P. pay attention to where you're positioning the ball in your stance. the longer the club, the lefter it goes (for righties). my 6 iron is directly in front of me.
No I dont play golf, still have clubs somewhere though. I used to train with Justin Rose when we were kids in Basingstoke, I was better than him back then, but then I found sex, drugs and rap. It was hard being a 9 year old back then
Just booked tee-times for Glen Eagles, Kingsbarnes, the Castle Couse and on two Old Course ballots for a pretty solid five days of golf in the end of June...

I played 18 on Monday, shot a 111. I know its high, buts its coming down the more I get to play. I am hoping to get it under 100 regularly by this fall if I can get enough time to play. I bought my 8 year old son a set of clubs for his birthday, so I should have more chances to play.

I need to get back out there and see how bad or good I do after my car accident since I'm feeling a 100 percent better. It's summer now so hopefully the local public course won't be busy like waiting 15 mins. a shot. I almost want to quit when its that busy.
Played Gleneagles today.
The starter, when I registered 10 minutes before tee-off said "wow, it's your lucky day sir, it looks like your playing with a certain Jack Nicklaus today" (he was in town as well, we knew)
So I did some furious warming up, decided the line I'd use at the end of the game ("Hey Jack, want to sign my score card ?"), etc.
As it turned out, Nicklaus had actually just booked a tee time for his two pilots. Bah. Had sme good chats with them about their boss though. If you were wondering, he normally flies a Gulfstream 5, but that's being leased out to the US government right now, so they've been flying the Gulfstream 4 lately instead.
Got invited to go look at his plane and shake his hand/get pictures tomorrow morning, but turned it down because it can really only be an awkward affair, and it's like, 45 minutes away.
But yeah, played with Nicklaus' pilots today

Not here. You start with 54 in Finland and work your way down to 36 at your home club (handicap goes down 1 for 1 at 54->36). Once you reach a hcp of 36, you are eligible to play as a guest at other clubs as well. Some other clubs do allow for hcp54 to play, but not many.DrunkFace wrote:
