americas army before they butt raped it with AA3 was probably one of the best fps ever.Uzique wrote:
i find those games completely boring, terribly optimized, and generally fraught with gameplay issues. i haven't played them much though.
the early americas army games were great. the first few versions, i mean. for military sim. those actually fostered a semi-competitive community, as well.
Soldier of Fortune II Double Helix.
Now that was a fun multiplayer game.

If the women don't find ya handsome. They should at least find ya handy.
You know they are making ArmA 3?-Sh1fty- wrote:
ArmA II needs a remake on a much, much better engine. I still love ArmA II though and warfare mode with ArmA II is probably my all time favorite game to play. So much fun!
DF - BHD was an awesome game.Dilbert_X wrote:
Delta Force - Black Hawk Down
And there was a manic FPS game with a flamethrower and bikin-clad slaughter-bots around the same time the name of which I can't remember.
Could have been Soldier of Fortune or something similar.
Further require an update of MGS1 without the Matrix cutscenes, and on the Playstation.
Simcity 4
Operation Flashpoint
MOHAA
Janes WW 2 Fighters with updated graphics would be awesome. it was more arcade than sim but I thought it was the perfect mix of the two for quick action without having too much to bog it down and make it a chore.
IL2: Sturmovik 1946

planescape: torment
operation flashpoint

if you open your mind too much your brain will fall out.

Which still looks like an unoptimized, blur and bloom fest.coke wrote:

They are adding some well-needed features in ArmA III that should have been in the II'd, but overall the second one looks better than the third. Take the second and give it a good engine without all the bloom bullshit and add the necessary features that weren't originally included. Bam! You have an awesome milsim.
Still though, if there was only one game I could play till the day I died it would be ArmA II's warfare mod in MP with 70 players or so. The huge 225km^2 map and dozens of villages offered endless gameplay possibilities.
And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.
Arma3 will probably suffer again from horrendous rubber banding, making the game frustrating.
I wouldn't mind having smaller maps tbh.

Never played janes. IL2 had a tons of shortcuts to memorize.Christbane wrote:

Wings of prey wasnt that good.

I prefer simulators to the easy take off, simplified flight models some flight games offer.
I really love Rise of Flight and DCS: A10 Warthog.
Worth checking out if you want an aerial combat sim.

I'd like to see a new version of these awesome games:
Wacky Wheels
Kart racing with animals, shooting hedgehogs at each other.
Re-Volt
Remote controlled car racing in everyday (and unconventional) places.
With bottle rockets and water balloons as weapons.
Oh, and a new Micro Machines sequel is also long overdue since MMV4 from 2006.
