There's a big problem with the whole David situation.
if he's evli from the start, most liekyl by lacking humanity, it's an overdone cliché and not just from Alien, but from many other hollywood movies. the robot going crazy, we've all seen that happen too many times.
But if he turns out to be good (whilst, lets face it, we all expect him to be evil) it will be old as well, since this was the case in Aliens.
And we all know that we don't want to see him as 'good' throughout the entire movie, that would add nothing to his character. Ridley put himself in quite a shitty position by putting in another android, since most angles to the character have already been done, and the ones still available are boring.

You can guess the rough outline of nearly every movie based on the posters alone.
I don't go to hollywood movies to be blown away by the unexpected turns in the story, great cinematography and solid characters.

and no. i don't mind the film all that much. i just hate hype-fests like this where everyone gets whipped up into a frenzy by a few teasers for essentially the same safe-territory shit these guys have been doing their whole careers.
