Yea i'm going tomorrow to fix this pin problem and to get the at home cell tower. Hopefully they have them in stock and the one with 3G connectivity. It will just use my internet connection to provide the cell service. For some reason if I want to update my phone I have to use 3G it won't let me do it over wifi.(Turns it off and connects via 3G.) I have no idea why it needs to do this.
I want ICS but its probably not going to happen with my phone. I did something similar to everyone else.
Edit: Does anyone know how to change notification bar color and icons?

Yea, I did that with my HTC Hero. I just don't want to redo my phone again. I have customized just the way I want it.
On another note. Sprint has approved the in home cell tower and will be sending it out to me this week. No more data issues FTW.

You don't have to wipe your phone to root it I'm pretty sure of it. You just install a custom kernel make sure it's compatible with your firmware though.
ofc not, one of the primary reasons of rooting is to completely back up your phone .. like with titanium backup.

What do you guys use to convert DVDs to video files for playback on your phone? I tried Handbrake, which produced a good quality video at a decent file size, but there was a really annoying audio delay/offset.
Making your porn collection mobile I see. Please share!mtb0minime wrote:

this dell streak 5 i found in my house is a piece of poo. trying to root/install custom roms to see if i can get it usable to screw around with. no wonder dell ditched this thing
I just found the battery settings in my phone. Apparently it has been set to power savor this entire time. Turn it to performance and phone is much faster now. I really hope I get ICS for this phone officially. I don't want to install custom roms.
yikes, dont turn it to performance! performance has it running at its highest speed always. use ondemand if thats available.
theres tons of governors if you use different roms and kernels, ive been using lulzactivev2

oh thats not a governor, thats something in sprint software most likely... touchwiz?
Hell if I know. I just know when I put performance on my phone was a bit zippier.
Edit 1: I'm semi-new to the Android scene. I've not owned for almost 2 years till now.
Edit 2:
Yea, no ICS for me for a while.

OMG my friend just got his Galaxy Nexus and he already broke it.
Fuck me...
Fuck me...
The Galaxy Nexus was vote "most broken when people first get it". Survive a month and you are typically golden.

I broke my iPhone 4 within 24 hours of getting it too. Fucking helicopter glass is weak as shit. Got a new one for free from Apple though. Hope whoever he bought it from will understand.
Thinking about getting the pro version of WinAmp. Anyone else use it? I'd really like a music browser that does it like iTunes and has a Genre>Artist>Albums kind of browsing. I also need an easy way to create playlists on my computer. With my old blackberry I made a playlist on the comp and edited the text to fit the file name. With my current phone, I made a playlist to see an example of how they set it up and then I could adjust from there, but couldn't find the playlist file on my phone when it was connected to my computer. wat.
Also, can anyone recommend a windshield mount? Preferably something that's adjustable. I have a Motorola Bionic, but there's a case on it so it's not the default size.

ive heard good things about the cyanogenmod music app which they apparently released as an apk. i use google music personally, which is easily the best for me since it allows streaming of far more music than i could ever store on my phone - as well as having a great UI
I do like Google music and being able to stream or sync, and a decent interface, but I'm afraid it will take up too much space. I've been using ogg vorbis format, very small file size but still sounds awesome. I've also been a bit paranoid with what I upload to my music account; so far it's just been flac rips of my own CDs. I don't have unlimited data, and the battery life on this thing isn't the best, so I refrain from streaming as much as possible. And if I download songs from Google Music, won't it be a 320kbps mp3 file? Way too big.
I also saw that Winamp Pro offers "gapless playback". I'm skeptical because I'm not sure if it'll be truly gapless. The default music player and Google Music haven't been able to play my stuff without gaps, so I've resorted to just combining all the tracks and having the mix as one file.

itll take up too much space.. what will? :S
and flacs get transcoded to 320 mp3 on gmusic anyway. you can get it to be lower quality if you upload it as such.

All the music will take up too much space. Don't wanna stream, wanna sync as much as I can. But then I also wanna keep the high quality files on Google Music for work listening or at friend's places or whatever.
Different strokes for different folks I guess
