Tips for the tanks, set ups, anything of the tanking nature.
Get thermal optics.
Bitches love optics.

tanks are a fun game

Thermal, maintenance, coaxial.
My best advice is to never rush into an area, as a tank you should keep back and provide ranged support.

I use Reactive Armor and Thermal 100% of the time. I switch up the weapon slot depending on the situation. If I have a friend up in the CITV I'll be using Guided Shells, otherwise I switch it up between the two Coaxial guns. The LMG generally seems to work better, but the HMG sounds incredibly epic so I use it from time to time.

I tank with spidery yoda who has the third seat unlock, so I get the guided shell and together we kill everything. it's ridiculously good.
Yeah I switched back to the LMG, HMG fire rate is simply too low.pyscofrawg wrote:

Gotta admit watching you one shot helicopters with that thing is fucking hilarious.Lucien wrote:

From someone who uses armor alot
Tank:
Auto Loader
Zoom Optics
Coaxial LMG
This game has the stupid 50% disable penalty so its not like you can back away quickly and repair in a safe spot when you get hit by an RPG like in BF2 and BC2. The Zoom Optics makes it so I don't have to get as close to infantry/armor to kill them.
The Auto Loader makes it so I shoot the tank shells faster and kill armor quicker than they kill me
And the LMG is rape add in the zoom optics and that makes it even more deadly and accurate.
After many hours in the tank I feel this is the best set up since I'm good at killing armor and infantry at long range with the zoom optics
Mobile AA:
For the Mobile AA I go with
Reactive Armor
Thermal Optics
AA Rockets
They buffed the AA's machine gun even further in the last patch and it takes ages to over heat, plus it's laser accurate like the 50cals from BC2.
Add in the thermal Optics makes using this like hacking. The Reactive armor is the best option in that first slot and the AA rockets are best option as well.
IFV:
The IFV is the same thing except it has the cannon and not the OP machine gun. But I still rape with the thermal and cannon anyways. Instead of reactive armor in the first slot I may put in belt speed to decrease the reload time on the cannon. The IFV and Mobile AA's speed allow it to escape easier than the tank so I don't need zoom optics on them plus the cannon + machine gun kill infantry faster than the tanks shells or LMG.

nice pictures
are those like Egyptian etchings of tanks

I use maintenance.
I notice tanks require more teamwork to be effective, like a good gunner/driver team you would find in a helicopter.
The other night I was playing with Christbane and he had the CITV station while I had the guided shell. Hilarity ensued. When I'm on my own though, I stick with thermal, autoloader, and guided shell if there are lots of other tanks, or coax hmg if there's lots of infantry.

If you can't get someone to target from the CITV station, Canister shells are great for anti-air AND anti-personnel. They are basically tank-sized shotgun shells.
Canister Shells suck ass

Normally roll out with
Proximity Scan
Thermal Optics
Canister Shell
Played tanks quite a bit and this is the best setup imo
After seeing the stuff about the guided shell and a friend in the CITV though may start using it instead of canister when playing with friends.
Does it lock on instantaneously, or is there still a 5 second lock on wait?
I've never actually used canister shell
Spot enemy tank, hit full speed and ram him. Bail out, explode, die, repeat.
lol good luck killing anything past 20 feet.Sturgeon wrote:

DICE are considering making tank shells a one hit kill for jets/choppers
I only used it cos dat noob surgeon told me too and it's easily the best option.
canister shell kills from miles off, you can even get them while they're poking there head out for a sneak look by just blasting at them and letting the radius do all work, plus you normally end up with a headshot bonus from as you hit everything.
I've taken out helos /transport vehicles with it in one go, you cant do that with the mounted LMG.

Blackbelts are just whitebelts who have never quit.
Agreed. Although i'd say even less for heli's maybe 5%. Give pilots about 2 seconds to jump outSturgeon wrote:
Should put choppers onto 10% or so like BF2 and jets one shot kill imobugz wrote:
