You Aussies better watch out, cause when america decides to invade korea, iran or italy, your country will get nuked
Im afraid its true... Kinda.
We do have a stereotypical view of all americans as kinda dumb, like you think us brits love tea. Whether or not it is justified, i doubt it. But its probally the fact that your presedent is an absolute Dumbass.
Stats show that people with a low IQ voted for Bush... and people witjh a normal to high IQ didn't.... Bush is in power... you do the math.
lol
Sounds harsh, but i dont mean to say ALL Americans are stupid.... just some... a few... lots... well just over half.

Some dude said "Brazil". And I'm thinking: what the hell did we do... (right or wrong, that is).
Back in 2000 I was in England, and two teachers came to me with serious questions: "Do you have hot water in your shower?" And another: "How do you avoid snakes on the streets?" I looked at them and said: "Stupidity is better than lack of common sense..." That day we had a full class of Brazilians glazing at them during lunch. Funny as hell, never forget that moment, for sure.

Are people who generalize, based on country of origin, extremely unintelligent? Yes, yes they are...
A lot of people in America are quite dumb, but so is the case in many other countries.
One of the causes for the stupidity of America is the education system, and not just specifically the education system but unions and the government. Unions ruin the education system because they make so many rules about how to fire teachers that the bad teachers can not be fired. The government has also hurt the education system by making the law that you must go to the school in your particular zone. If Americans were allowed to attend the school of their choosing there would be a higher demand for better teachers.
Another problem is the money we pay for each student in taxes. I really think it is excessive to be paying over $10,000 per child to go to school. The other problem I have with our education system is sports. Sports are optional and should be paid for by the student who wants to participate and not by the government. There should also be a minimum grade point average such as 2.5 or 3 on the 4.0 scale for students to participate in sports. The minimum would give students and incentive to do better in school to be able to play sports.
Yes, the American education system in terrible (thank goodness I go to a private school).
Another problem that seems to magnify the stupidness of America is that we seem to be under the international spot light and so our actions are more closely monitored.
Ah, there is my 2 cents worth of ranting.

Oh and goin back to the whole eductaion system..... Yours sucks!
Your high school diploma is worth fuck all over here, its the same level as our SATS exams, which we take when we are 13.
Our GCSE's (what we get at16 when we leave school) are the same level as your college diplomas.
My degree from here is the same standard as a fricking doctorate over there.

no offence to any americans, theres plenty of clever people over there and ive been unfortunate enough to meet plenty of dumb people over here..
but theres this poll that i'll always remember
where something like 60% of a certain group of college grads asked - thought that because of the channel tunnel, britain was now a part of france..
but for you USA, all you have to do is watch the english big brother to see what the flip side to that coin is

the major flaw in the american education system (for most americans) they dont learn enough about where countries are located... which i knew when i was around 10... thats what makes americans looks like idiots

In the US only certain subjects are hit hard, others like world history and geography aren't.
Yeah the Public Education System in America sucks, it is run by the Liberal Teachers Union and they could care less about quality of Education and more about their pay and promoting their liberal agenda.goblinstomper wrote:

I just thank god we get all those super smart immigrant from other countries to make us look good;)
Oh, BTW I work with a lot of the "Super Smart top 3% of their class" type people from other countries in Europe (Intel is big in to hiring these people away) and I can say that they are no better than American engineers taught in America. But of these people the ones from France seem awfully good, not kidding, they do something right over there. Oddly enough though most of the ones from France are women it seems like.
Also if you want to see some real uneducated people that aren't very smart, then go to Mexico. Of course this is a generalization of a population, but damn they dumb.

The I-95 runs north and south from Maine to Florida. This would intersect other interstates that could take you to Ireland. You could also take a train from any metropolitan city....
The map is a simple demonstration of how one could travel to Ireland from New York City, a popular tourist attraction.

i think the popular opinion about that most americans r stupid is simply because on the internet the stupid americans get shown more then the smart ones.
as when there is a video online about how stupid americans can be it gets viewed 100.000 times and if there is one about a 10 year old american that knows all the countrys of europe and can point them out on a map it gets 5 views.
That it is the popular opinion that most americans r stupid doesnt mean its actualy true its simply that the dumb ones get shown more often.
and about this vid:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid … 3510275113
it doesnt matter who the US will go to war with iran, korea or whoever the australians r fucked if those people get todo the logistics.
(the only annoyingg bit about the vid is they dont say how many people actualy pointed at the right countrys when saying Iran or Korea)
years ago u had a show on dutch tv (12 years ago orso).
the people from that show went to a countrys were alot fo dutch people went ot vacation (spain france italy).
then theyd ask dutch people there (usualy aged 50 and older) to point out the country were they atm are on a map of the world.
wel like 90% did end up pointing at a country in europe but like 9 out of 10 times not the one they were in.
the otehr 10% pointed at asia the US are at an ocean.
i think in the US and in Europe alot of people that are 50 or older wont be able to point out certain countrys on a map of the world cause back when they were in school, cause back then schools didnt really concentrate on such stuff.
Younger people (30 and younger) mostly have learned such stuff and will be able to point out countrys on a map.
On the other hand the thing thats scaring me is that some of the people on that CNN vid were like in their 20s.
And the german TV did the exact same thing with german teenagers a few months ago and most of them werent able to point out germany
