microsoft and facebook are big today because gates and zuckerberg were good businessmen, not that college is shit.
yeah, but if bill gates and mark zuckerberg decided to stay focused on academics rather then spending time on their passion, where exactly would they be today?
theyre exceptions rather than the rule. for every succesful college dropout theres hundreds of failed ones. if you have the opportunity than take it, you can always go back to college
true, but at the same time, i'm inclined to think that these failed startups were still helpful learning experiences for their futures. it's something that can help them during the next startup they attempt, and it's simply not something academics can teach you because you need to experience it for youself.

im saying you'll burn out because you're taking 5 APs this semester. I know so many kids that busted their ass in high school and burn out in uni
maybe... one thing that might separate me from the others is that nobody's forcing me or really even pressuring me to do well in school. i know a lot of kids at my school who are forced to do well in school by their parents. my parents let me do what i want. i guess they want me to learn from my own mistakes and to make my own decisions. i averaged about a 2.7 gpa during freshman and sophomore year, and i grew tired of being a lazy student and i changed my entire life around. i think i have an advantage over the kids who's parents always controlled every aspect of their life.
but still... it's hard to tell. i guess i'll just have to go out and see for myself

You don't have time to fuck around because of your AP classes? You poor thing. My heart breaks for you.
Why can't I have my cake and eat it too? I want to get into a good college and get a good job ( because the two totally go hand in hand) but I don't want to bust my ass to do it. I also don't want to miss ""the best time of my life" in college while also getting great grades and a dream job.
Totally not delusional
errr. What do you mean by 'fuck around'? That's not what I want. I want time to continue studying programming and reverse engineering because that's what I want to fucking to for the rest of my life. Those two things are going to get me my paycheck. Instead, I need to study Hamlet. That's great and all but literary analysis isn't going to do make my life any better.
It's like trying to tell Mark Zuckerburg to not "fuck around" with starting up Facebook because it had a negative effect on his academics.
im not talking about fucking partying and making sure "i have the best time of my life". i'm talking about something that will make a difference.
How is copying someone elses work making a difference? You think you will make money in 'reverse engineering'? Ok, if you ignore every single patent law on the books. Who's going to pay you? Your hacker friends? Pshh.
i don't think you understand what reverse engineering is.
first of all, reverse engineering is completely legal. second of all, there's no point in reverse engineering something that's patented because something that's patented requires a public disclosure of the invention.
anyway, i don't care about the above because that's not what i plan on doing. reverse engineers are helpful because they can help with security. i'm not only talking about protecting computers from viruses and trojans, but i'm also talking about how companies try to prevent their software from being cracked and reverse engineered by other reverse engineers.
who do you think creates anti-virus software? what about the people who work on punkbuster and VAC? how about themida, armadillo, and other packers/protectors that are specifically made to prevent people from reverse engineering programs? who designs the anti-crack protections on photoshop?
if you think nobody's going to pay me for the above, you don't know what you're talking about
