Fuck me! I killed the bloody fireball-chucking hag and the game crashed as soon as I looted her corpse. It was easy, but took a bit:
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Level 6, in sneak mode as far away from her as you can. Bow to death. Get some good sneak and bow leveling that way. If she heals too fast, get her to low health and run in for the kill.

This is irritating. Outfitted my 'companion' nicely. Told her to wait in one spot while I sniped the fireball hag. Went back, she was gone. Mapped away, she didn't spawn by me. Checked my house, no show. Checked the place where I got her, nothing there. This game is starting to constantly remind me to not save too much onto one file. Or else.
RIP

Are there even companion-related quests in this game? if not I don't really want someone following me around all the time...
Didn't think of that, but it sounds like a brilliant solutionunnamednewbie13 wrote:
TBH, leveling in stuff on your own isn't too difficult, but trainers are simply icing on the cake of non-grindage. You should earn five trains per level and not lose them when you advance to the next.FloppY_ wrote:
Yeah I hate how they kept that system from Oblivion, it was OK in Oblivion since you could stop leveling up by not sleeping, but in Skyrim you keep leveling up in the background, so if you earn some cash to train before leveling up you will likely end up leveling multiple times when you finally pay for the training...unnamednewbie13 wrote:
One annoying thing about trainers is, unless I'm mistaken, you gotta take advantage of the +5 every level or you miss the opportunity. Unless I didn't read it right...

so how do fuck my housecarl? she's hot.
I just want to know how to get her back. I hate losing NPC's in RPG's.
What happened? Can you not complete the game now?Mutantbear wrote:

My guy, a lvl 15 bosmer, self-crafted armor set too
so im pretty sure i'm the only one that picked orc because i wanted to hit shit for a change. too bad the melee combat system is incredibly boring and i end up lighting people on fire or arrowing them instead...

Curses. I wish I'd seen all these neat-ass places in screenshots but my compulsive behavior makes me want to clear one whole area before moving to the next (though the "Cleared" tag is very helpful so I can be certain I was at some place before)
I got that for one quest, and another thing I'm doing isn't even a quest at all even though it has all the makings of one, it was never a journal update or anything, in fact I completely forgot I wanted to do it until now. I hope they release a patch soon to fix the quests, and maybe even improve performance just a little bit; I'm maxing out on High settings with Medium-High view distance, 8x AF and 4x AA(FXAA) on my GTX 260. Doesn't look terrible, still way better than Oblivion but I want to make it as close to maxed out as possible, you guy's shadows in your pics look amazing, High shadows doesn't hold a candle to Ultra apparently.Mutantbear wrote:

I just dodged as many fireballs as possible and got WAY up close to her like to the point where you're pretty much walking into her and just kept running around and hitting her since it takes her about a whole second to swing her arm, just make sure you don't get too much farther from her than right up to her ugly face or she will start fireballing again from just 3 feet away which conveniently doesn't seem to do any splash damage to her at all.
I might be more inclined to use spells if I had the one she uses, has anybody found it yet?
There should be some kind of respawn script for when you press the ~ key, it might be the same as the Gamebryo engine's command was so you could do a bit of research into it and find out.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Eurgh.
Settings -> gameplay -> uncheck xbox 360 controller box
Far more responsive menus and a slight fps boost. Why the hell is this checked by default :S

so should I check this game out or what?
Is the leveling as stupid as it was in Oblivion?
I'm so tired of Riften, you get there, then you get told to steal a ring and frame some innocent guy for doing it by some scumbag who sells miracle drinks....
I know it's the start of the thieves guild questline, but I don't want to do anything unjust with this character... It wouldn't even let me refuse to steal
Can't even rat the bastard out to the Jarl, nor can I find a way to get rid of the other scumbags in Rifen... Fuck that city.. srsly....
