i don't know if it's rose-tinted glasses effect or what but i honestly thought that the pvp set was the overall best, but in pve the tier2 was the best, then tier2.5, then tier3/tier1 on a tie. i wasn't really impressed with any other sets apart from that. some of the early TBC looked okay if you were into something so utterly different (and kinda outside of WoW's normal lore, too). everything after that was just them recolouring old shit in a different shade or being stupid.

Don't like that either. TBH I don't know what it is that puts me off, I get the feeling that every set for the past few years has been designed by the same guy who loves to overuse glow.

If I can remember right I wore lionheart's helmet, arathi shoulders, rank 12 gear, some cape from ragnaros with +22 stam and DTC as a weapon.

the weps i remember most fondly was the dagger from hakkar in zul gurub and perdition's blade / core hound tooth. they ripped ass for most of early WoW and you really didn't need any better.

bwl's timing was just... the zenith of WoW's glory-days, imo. the prestige it carried in the early days was awesome, too. not to mention the fact that tier2 was the best looking set for just about every class and was far above everything else in terms of design. and of course the necessary attunement/resistance grinds to even get in there and be able to make it past the first 1-2 encounters... meant that everyone you saw in tier2 pieces or with the awesome-looking bwl weps had done their fair service. i just remember those days really fondly. the bosses were pretty difficult, the gear genuinely carried that epic feeling, and only a few guilds per server really had bwl on a comfortable lock. i still remember the shouts of 'NEF DOWN!' in all the city channels whenever a guild used to manage it... and still remember seeing people in full tier2 with the MC legendarys, or even ashkandhi or however it was spelt...

good times.

I just logged on to see if I had any gametime left, turns out I did.

Due to me and my friend Dan stopping playing, our guild basically fell apart, cause we were high-ups in it, both organised the raid team and were on almost every day. Our true guild leader also quit for another guild, because he saw where ours was going. The whole of the raid team either stopped playing or moved to another guild. Sad really.

When I logged on today, there was one person online. Bezoar, someone I always had fun chatting to. She never really had the same playstyle as me, it took her about 4 weeks to go from level 80-85, but she did everything in between. She's an achievement farmer, pet farmer, title farmer, never really interested in maxing out her character as fast as possible.

Anyway, I logged on there and chatted with her for a bit, then went through all my characters and gave her anything of value, about 12k in gold, 400 elements, a load of cloth, couple of BoEs, just stuff like that.

Made me feel all fuzzy inside ^_^
