i had to time my second stage so i could deploy it a fraction before the first would explode at 8000metersTrotskygrad wrote:

I'm addicted to this game. So far I can't get past 3000m/s on a multistage rocket.
that is straight up? and with or without mods?Naturn wrote:

With mods and straight up.
Getting past 3km/s is pretty easy without mods if you use solid boosters for the initial launch, liquid for the long haul, and a single solid booster after that. You can get above 3km/s easy even without the last solid stage.
what mods?
stable orbit 112km
how to I use the BF2s uploader? Ive uploaded it just can't get it to show up?
How do radial decouplers work? I want to have more than three engines in a stage.
you but them on the side of you craft at attach boosters to themnukchebi0 wrote:

early on....
later.... this is where i dropped my last booster and just drifted

and this is where i shut it off due to boredom

Use linkage struts to reinforce the structure. Keeps things from getting all twisty in flight.Stimey wrote:

Also a very weight efficient way to hold the forces of multiple stages.
See those 3 stacks of 24 solid rocket boosters? Each stack of 24 has exactly ONE radial decoupler holding it to the 2nd stage.
Note the small linkages connecting the center three-way liquid fuel tanks. Without those small links, the whole assembly spreads apart and develops a bad oscillating twist when the outer solid stage is firing.

And just at zero fuel separation:

All default parts.
How did you guys fix the download corruption?
yeah struts are nice to prevent the twist syndromerdx-fx wrote:

I've had rockets fail from twisting too much

so far my highest speed achieved is 5908.7
Got some zoomed out pics of that? Any in-flight ones too?rdx-fx wrote:

ergh, I hate linkage struts. Everytime i try to connect the second piece of it, it just disconnects the part I wanted to connect the strut to. It's like, click where I want the strut to start, no problem, click where I want it to finish, piece disconnects from the rest of the rocket
yeah I have the same problembennisboy wrote:

me too. Its a very very intricate process. I've gotten the hang of it though.Trotskygrad wrote:

I'd call it more annoying than intricate tbh
when you click to connect the strut, just dont move the mouse, that way you wont move the piece and you then click it back into positionSonderKommando wrote:

except I'm using a laptop touchpad, and I use the actual mouse button rather than the touchpad to click, so there is no way I move the piece. And half the time when I click to reconnect, the strut doesnt even finish. Gameis very buggy, but hey, its form like one man, so cant complain!Pure_Beef_68 wrote:

Also mods make this game wurst. Makes it too easy
