lemme know when you're over the '14 year old house music' phase, maybe then we can talk real house music that is actually relevant

I freely accept my taste in music isn't sophisticated, but I just don't really care and get on with my life whilst rocking out to some Rihanna.

yeah i mean being interested in new music culture is really holding up my life a great deal. totally laboured with it. absolutely crippled, at times. rest of my life just falls apart and comes to an absolute standstill. debilitating. arresting. almost like a heroin addiction or something, only probably worse because it's free and i can get my fix any time i want. holy shit this is dangerous stuff i'm fucking with. great post.

Music is a very subjective thing if you ask me. Same goes for many art/media forms, like movies.
The subjective part of course is, do you think its good or shit (so if you enjoy listening to it or not).
But then theres a pretty clear line between whats actually shit and whats good thats not doenst change whether you like the track or not.

Having said that, Finray, you can enjoy whatever music you like, but that song was shit.

I'm also growing pretty tired of all the dance, mainstream house and trance.

Guess it was just a matter of time

i felt that way about age 13 when i stumbled upon all the other genuinely exciting and genre-pushing shit that was happening in electronic music.

at the time it was IDM... aphex, autechre, u-ziq, boc, squarepusher, plaid, chris clark, etc. that stuff still gives me butterflies.

nowadays the fringe of electronic music is pretty much uk bass... which is morphing into some weird classic house revival on the fringes.

I was never able to get into electronic music, simply because i had never heard any of it until a few months back.
Same goes for dubstep and drum 'n bass (the good kind, the shitty nero junk is pretty much everywhere these days).
You just never get exposed to it here. None of my friends listen to it, its not on the tv or radio. So its not too starnge that its a genre thatt ive only lately been able to enjoy and explore.

Baby steps.

seriously.
What do you think? That they play that shit on MTV (we dont really have any other music channels) or out shitty radio channles that play nothing but lady gaga and trance?
Or in a club? hahahahahahaha.
