Sorry, I didn't check the other thread.Stimey wrote:

/sigh...
WSJ typical mind thought:
"For players with a Microsoft Corp. Xbox 360 console, a Call of Duty Elite subscription will come on top of the $9.99 monthly fee they typically pay for Xbox Live" /facepalm.
And here I was about to put in a couple pre-orders. Screw this.
Move over Warcraft, COD is in town.
Now, if they'll let us farm for credits or real money. Credits for kill streaks? Get credits for completing contracts?
That's kind of an idea. Keep the optional monthly fee for the elite thing, but give the people something like Xbox points for playing that can be redeemed for other games or for real money by top tournament players.
I love how it doesn't let you back out of that page. You'd think the web devs would catch that kind of shit.
Ubisoft? I could backtrack here.
Once I did the silly enter your age thing, it gave me some oddball countdown to E3 event. I hit back, and it loaded a video. Hit back again, and it reloaded the same video page. Mashed the back button, gave up and just reentered BF2S in the address bar.
MW 3 with a subscription= NO
The way I read it, it's pretty much just another version of buying hats for TF2. So \_/.
I guess theyve finally gone to far with this subscription shit.
My brother, who buys every single CoD game because he really is one of those people that think its the game of the year, every year, i snow starting to doubt wether he'll buy it or not because he finally realizes how greedy these fuckers are.
He still doesnt acknowldge how its ruining the gaming industry and that the game is always the same, but its a start.

I don't think CoD is ruining the game industry at all. If they don't handle it right, the franchise will just collapse and the fame will move onto something else.
the bigger they are, the harder they fallunnamednewbie13 wrote:

Lawl monthly fee. CoD is officially becoming more shittier than it already had become with the previous games..
Call of Duty: Elite is a stats / social network kind of thing. MW3 will NOT be pay to play. It's only for stats getting new map packs faster etc etc. Just little shit no one should really care about.
The question is, on consoles, can you "share" those map packs like you can on the PS3, or do the dual-use method on the 360?

YES! More stupid perks! And group perks, wow, just what i wanted from CoD!

The key to good game design is forcing your players to guess what their enemies are capable of
According to activision its: Take what you already have and add more to it.
Ah fuck it. And the most retarded thing is that they actually know that self hosted servers are WORSE than dedicated server since they actually link you to this:Kotaku say that “this latest Call of Duty still won’t support dedicated servers

So IW/activision/Treyarch/whoever the fuck is in charge, what. the. fuck.
And what the fuck is this? No one will bother getting a kill anymore, just lay in a corner, silencer, uav jammer or whatever it will be called in MW3 and tag people. They've gone mad.Point Guard: Every two assists count as a kill towards your killstreak.
it encourages teamwork, stfu nubRDMC wrote:

If the cod franchise fails, they still have Wow...which isn't exactly small.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

Meh. When MW2 was popular, the non-dedicated servers worked pretty well with getting into a quick game. Thats what I liked about it. Problem was that you cant become a 'regular' on a known server, which might have some pretty cool other regular players too. Now, MW2 is pretty much ruined because I am unable to connect to anyone. So I guess the non-dedicated servers thing swings both ways for me.RDMC wrote:

Regarding the 2 assists = 1 kill, lol. That'll be interesting.
noice
CoD playerbase and WoW playerbase are not at all related. The mass of CoD players are casuals, with their xbox/ps3, who play a couple hours a night with their mates online.aerodynamic wrote:

WoW playerbase mass is shut-in neckbeards who play 16 hours a day and have no friends.
