Just did a Mongol campaign in Victoria 2 (had to cheat to get the nation to exist as an independent state from 1836 on). Took Japan and all of mainland Asia except Russian territories, British claims and anything west of (former) Persia. Tough to reboot the country as a great power, but it was worth it to see MONGOLIA stretched across the map.
