Desire HD. ROM? Wut? I just got the phone on tuesday and I have no clue about basically anything so far Installed Zeam yesterday and that's all I've doneMicrowave wrote:
There's a lot availble. Look on google, there's probably one there specifically for your phone.
What phone do you have and what ROM are you planning on using?
Lifehacker is always a good place to start.
This. Although getting rid of the bloat would be nice.. and the proxy... Im gonna wait till the warranty is up though, I hate voiding warranties.Kmar wrote:

I still haven't seen any compelling arguments to void my phones warranty.
At the moment, if you are AT&T and want to use the Amazon marketplace, you'll have to either root/custom ROM the phone. I rooted mine and installed a 'liberated' ROM, which is basically the stock minus AT&T crapware and with a few things unlocked (like tethering, creating a wifi hotspot, etc...) at no cost.SonderKommando wrote:

For that, I think you need the custom rom. You have an HTC Inspire, right? This is probably the sort of thing you'd want to get that... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996368SonderKommando wrote:

pdanet works fine. If you don't mind having your phone plugged in to your laptop. I've tethered for free almost every day since I've had my phone.SonderKommando wrote:

I use K9 and love it! It's a clean interface and runs beautifully. Also, it has push IMAP to give you exchange type insta-mail (but will kill your battery)...Kmar wrote:
Do you guys have a favorite app for pop email? A buddy of mine is having trouble with the built in email client on his phone.
I've heard some good things about K-9.
It really annoyed me that ATT was so controlling that they disallowed non-market apps. I wonder if they plan to fix that for all their Android phones, or just the newer ones.Kmar wrote:

I was downloading from amazon marketplace on verizon before it was officially opened..
